JoeCool 1,073
Tbh during The Fame and Born This Way eras I didn't really pay all that much attention to her personal life. After that though and ARTPOP seemed she became a strong mental health advocate as well as an anti bullying one. Her mother as well. A lot of people I knew initially didn't dislike her they just thought she was kind of weird. I think today most people see her as a generous/kind person. According to AI anyway if you google it. lol
weed 79,250
I think she had a persona during certain interviews, specifically The Fame perfume lmao, but she was always kind, smart, quick witted. Whenever there's stories of her pre-blowing up she is always regarding in a high way. you can't be mean and nasty while performing in an IKEA parking lot! She was a gracious, hardworking diva 4
Kimmo 82,388
Yes, even when she was on top of the world she always treated everyone with respect and preached about kindness every opportunity she had… Unlike Madonna. She was always accessible and welcoming to others who looked up to her. Her message of kindness has always been one of the reasons why I love and stan her so much. LG10 14,109
There was a period she was exhausted and wasnt herself but that dont mean she was a bad person. She was just surrounded with the wrong people and at the wrong time. The real Gaga is always been a good person since day 1.

Lucas 31,458
I think she started getting this reputation during the BTW era, and it really solidified in the following years.
Frey 91
I’ve told this story in more detail b4 but during ARTPOP met her after an ARTRAVE & literally right after lining up so everyone could get their picture w/ her I *while trying to puke into a garbage can* Ended up getting covered in puke T.T freshly 18, so many emotions, but just get back into line and when it my turn to enter she like went for an instant hug, and ofc not going to just let someone hug you when you know, you’re covered in puke.. Yet after stopping her & explaining, uk a normal reaction could’ve been oh god thx for the heads up, or even ew, or so many ways & a lot of them even being justified but Not Gaga - She just went ‘i don’t care, you just went hard during my show, come here! & Then straight into squeeeeze hugging me — Just surreal moment, the complete opposite of never meet your idols.. & right away afterwords it like cemented her into my heart. Bc seriously ik I also try to spread positivity & kindness, but if someone tells me they are covered in puke as I was about to hug them, I’d take step back say oof thx for the heads up, and carry on.. Gaga just Born That Way xD + to answer if kindness always been associated in general, I’d say yes. Prior to born this way she was very loud advocate for the gay community in general, & then Born this way speaks for itself but actually I’d say right around the announcement of Born This Way at the vma’s could be considered the starting point to kindness being incorporating into the brand that is ‘Lady Gaga’ ? Oriane 22,910
As in the reputation she has with the general public? I don't think anyone knows about her being kind and promoting kindness, the average person will just say "she must be crazy in real life haha, I wouldn't like to know her personally". bxr 2,760
Intriguing question … I can‘t say from first-person experience … but for some reason this footage echoed vibes that resonated with your inquiry … It‘s from that sort of The Fame‘s pre-“Fame” liminal space … where she‘s operating from a bit of “character development,” but still the human artist and the core of it, working through that practical sensibility of identity formation … ? All of that is to say, neither here nor there really, but she just seemed to carry a certain genuine compassion from the space of aiming for authentic human connection … just sort of meeting people where they are and engaging in that sometimes awkward space of finding a common ground [like the first story with the journalist, completely felt like y’know a person just finding their footing in conversation, somewhat leaning into the nuance of everyday life, but the weird quirks that make it unique … and then in context of a Lollapalooza interview … it sort of reads like, oddly “degular,” maybe like middle-class? (non-deragatory … actually, I feel like much of what‘s missing in pop culture is true middle-class presence … not high, not low, just that bricolage of in-between … the “but I’m an artist” who got this get-up from American Apparel, Intermix, DIY, and vintage … ft. SmartWater and whichever-coffee-is-at-the-craft-services-table … and those nails )] Anyhaps … I don‘t really know where this was going, I’m just riffing … and now rambling … but/and/so, not really an answer to your question, just a point of reference for energetic/reputational resonance maybe … but/and, in immediate retrospect, not that this definitively backstage, pre-“Fame” footage would establish reputational canon … ah, well—learnings never losses

She was so pissed and I know she would not say half of those things she said back then today but I am glad that exists and it shows if she is pushed she can have some not so kind moments (sometimes justifiably so).
