alexcal24 125
where is the streaming link i love this scandal, i don't love the scandal itself, hurting people and everything but Elisabeth in herself is fascinating, the teaser even is enough when she's ''not lying and trying to communicate as a human being'' is HILARIOUS

I think her man is the main manipulator on display, so for sure the subject. Liz was trying hard to win friends and paint herself as an honest, simple sweetheart. The score and certain reveals (like the Wework office) did pull viewers into drawing some conclusions about the facade the Liz and her man, but we wouldnt have been able to come to those conclusions if the couple didn't give the filmmakers those opportunities. I don't see this as much different than other documentaries trying to be investigative, but the way Nathan put on his character did make things feel fresh. Spoiler i agree! I think the whole point they're trying to make is that documentaries are going to be biased or manipulated by the storyteller, to some degree at the very least. What makes this a great film is that this is all open to interpretation. There are people who think the movie is about whether Elizabeth Holmes is guilty or not and whether she deserves her prison time (which it is and she does, but it's about so much more than that), as well as people who are now on her side now that Billy has politicized the whole situation with C***** K***. There's even more theories that suggest that Elizabeth is the puppetmaster behind Billy, and even Nathan (it's just that Nathan is more self-aware and willing to transparently show this). I don't know if Nathan was playing a character in the first half of it, having followed his work since the Comedy Central days, I don't think so. But that's the whole beauty to the film... we don't know if the final scene is scripted, meaning we don't know what's real or manipulated; you could say the subject is even more of a mystery after the film; and the potential for everyone who walks out of the theatre to have a completely different interpretation of it in a time where politics have never been more polarized makes this a film for the ages. Maestro, play me your symphony; I will answer to anything. Take me on a trip,

For some reason, so much of the film feels rooted in the intersection of maybe, narrative authority and the reality of truth (from a high level vantage, though, perhaps) … with undercurrent considerations of what you see is watching you Definitely myriad more layers upon layers to said onion girl of a documentary gaze, but/and/so, I was really intrigued by your insights
