Sabrina Carpenter and Bad Bunny win their 1st Emmy Awards, now halfway to EGOT

After winning two Grammy Awards last year for Best Pop Solo Performance ("Espresso") and Best Pop Vocal Album ("Short n' Sweet"), Sabrina Carpenter has now added an Emmy Award to her collection for Best Variety Special (Pre-Recorded) for The Muppet Show.

 

She was an executive producer and performer on the Disney+ project that revived Jim Henson's beloved Muppets for another round of variety-show sketches, songs, and celebrity guests. Directed by Alex Timbers, it garnered millions of views and glowing reviews. x

 

Bad Bunny has won his first Emmy for the Super Bowl Halftime Show. He won in the outstanding variety special (live) category.

“The Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show Starring Bad Bunny” took home a total of seven nominations, winning music direction, choreography, sound mixing, lighting design, technical direction/camerawork and directing.

Jay-Z, also an executive producer on the show, won his third Emmy. x

Also why are they handing out Emmys like it’s the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards now?? You mean to tell me Gaga lost for her Super Bowl Halftime show, The Monster Ball HBO special, Cheek To Cheek, and One Night Only with Tony Bennett?? Oh and I’ll never forget how they removed Gaga from ‘Til’ It Happens To You’ credits which eventually went on to win the Emmy. 

If Gaga loses again for TDD, I will be personally suing!

I swear getting an Emmy is easier than it used to be. Much newer stars with limited clout are getting them now, you used to have to be an established success for years to even be in with a shout. But it all comes down to what you're up against. Just like the Grammys, the most known name tends to win it if all else fails. There's no way that the voters watch every single tv show, they take longer to consume than albums and we know Grammy voters don't listen to all of them. There's a reason why it's said that an Emmy is the easiest part of the EGOT to win but then that depends what your talent is and what the competition's like.

I think in Gaga's case, it was just unfortunately being up against much bigger names/events every time. Looking at her nominations you'd think how on earth could she not win. But when you look back at the other nominees, you're like oh... Just as well there are off-shoots of the Emmys hence why she ended up with a Sports Emmy. An Emmy is an Emmy is an Emmy but let's face it, we're wanting her to win a Primetime Emmy as those are the ones everyone knows and cares about.

I’ve been meaning to watch The Muppets special. I love Miss Piggy. 
 

I love Bad Bunny’s Halftime Show. I knew like half of the songs from casual listening but thought his show was excellent. It was vibrant and filled with so much energy. I love dance and choreography and the show delivered so many different forms of dance. 
 

I watched it at a gay bar known for its outdoor patio and all the girlies were hyped af. Everyone went crazy when Señorita Gagita came out and I cried. Like it’s crazy to think BB was a huge fan of hers and now he got to share the stage with her. 
 

Well deserved for an amazing show. Ima go rewatch it now.
