yeah I'm not really feeling much watching this 

for a few different reasons

as a huge Harry Potter fan I'm kinda curious to see how it all turns out... but I can already tell this is not gonna be better than the original movie

obvious controversy aside, this looks wayyy too similar to the original films. I'm not saying they should have reinvented the wheel, but it could have been stylistically different. think Batman 1989 vs. the Dark Knight trilogy and how different those worlds look

I was a huge fan of HP, but I won’t be watching or purchasing anything for the IP. My loved ones are simply more important to me, and I don’t want to contribute a single stream because it goes directly towards continuing the ongoing harm and pain they are experiencing because of JK Rowling. I’m not ashamed to read the books I already owned, or watch the DVDs I already owned; but it’s really time we move on from this IP for the good of everyone. 

It’s going to probably do well, my focus will be on continuing to support trans people instead. Harry Potter taught me my friendships were the most important thing afterall

I agree with this. I think they are trying to appeal to both film and book fans, which isn’t the right decision and feels like pandering. I truly hope those kids have support for dealing with the ugly to come

I doubt I'll be watching, as curious as I am how they'll recreate/change certain things compared to the films.

As we all know, they didn't have to do this. I think the real reason they've invested so much in this is to sell new Harry Potter merch for years and years to come, to the same people who've spent thousands over their lifetimes on the merch that already exists.

The only way it would work looking extremely different to the films would be if someone like Guillermo del Toro did his take on what the whole world looked like

i think the main draw to this remake is that it's a whole season based on each book, for them to show everything that got blitzed from the books in the original movies
