Why are they redoing the same thing over again? The movies already exist. What are they doing that's new? Sure it looks flashy and fancy but like... cash grab? Nostalgia-bait? All the while supporting joanne rowling. HBO really could've spent these millions on anything and this is what they chose. They've done some amazing shows recently but this was just pointless

A shame that J.K. Rowling is what she is because it truly needed an adaptation into a full show, to have more details and development from the books. Any fan will at best like the first few movies and absolutely loathe anything from the 5th on. It has always been the consensus in the fan base that one season per book would work better rather than one movie per book. Let's not support this financially but let's not rewrite history and say it's purely nostalgic when this was long overdue.

We see a lot of remakes and live actions of cartoons in the last 15 years because it's a way to protect the IP rights, reason to boost merch (for example, it's most likely HP would get some new Lego sets with the series new characters designs), and it's also a cheaper investment with a very low risk.. they don't need to advertise these remakes much because it's sufficient to boost the marketing a few weeks before the premier and that's it and if they flop, they can still boost merch.. which is exactly what Disney is doing with Stitch.. the movie did averagely, but Stitch merch are selling like crazy, it became the new temp mascot of Disney.

While I understand why everybody is against Rowling, you all have to seriously stop acting like she has done all this by herself. 
she sold the movies and tv rights decades ago and that was negociated with royalties yes but don’t think she is gonna get billions because of this and not even a million especially since we are talking about a tv show and not movies. Also she is a producer so she is probably investing more than receiving money. It’s the merch and books that give her money.

the profits of this will go towards thousands of people including the crew.

I was against watching it because it felt like just too easy to remake this

but I am not gonna lie I am excited to watch it and explore more than what we saw in the movies. The movies will always be fond memories and part of my life but yeah it’s also ok to see another take on this. 
also I am glad they corrected the colours 

 

but yeah you need to grow up sometimes
