The ARTPOP launch party in Brooklyn was such an event, so I think I would choose that one. Her entrance into the show while going through the audience… hectic but cool.

That’s true. It’s def the most “high art” centric concert she’s done seeing as it had like half of its most notable predators in attendance

Maybe Born This Way was avantgarde in a more theatrical and weird way - while ArtRave in a technical and abstract way.

This & the Paparazzi vma performance are peak Avant Garde Gaga. 

Don't think any debut pop act has ever established themselves as such an iconic performer so quickly.

I wish she’d go further in that direction. It’s not hard to execute nor super budget heavy (though in the Brits case I wonder what happened to that huge Gaga statue) The sparseness was part of its beauty. She does deconstructed performances really really well (Abra at the Grammy’s, for example, being a great performance around deconstruction and rebuilding live).

that performance is wonderful, though, bc it’s very quietly confident and all about its vision. Bombast is fun from her, but I love when she does something simple and striking

Tour wise probably The Monster Ball 1.0, overall probably SXSW. TMB 1.0 has fashion films and an abstract theme about evolution, SXSW had performance art and a country reimagining of her biggest hit whilst she had on dreadlocks and was roasted like a pig. Or was riding a mechanical bull that was also a piano.
