LateToCult 41,979
James Cameron, gird your loins because I think Doomsday might take Avatar’s crown This would place Spider-Man: Brand New Day in 3rd it comes to biggest WW box office. If it manages to somehow over perform, it could come within striking distance of Endgame’s total gross. 2

garbage day 11,842
Considering that almost every ad or commercial I've seen starts the trailer with this, I think they know what they're doing 5
elijahfan 27,499
I have no idea what’s compelling so many people to go see this film, I have literally 0 recollection of what happened in the previous 2. But good for cinema I guess.

There’s the hype for the next Avengers fueling it, then Tom and Zendaya are at the peaks of their careers plus their having a once in a lifetime PR run with their marriage and clean images, Sadie Sink turned out to be great casting and is building up hype for the X-Men, and the movie has excellent word of mouth. It will be very hard to replicate this kind of press for a movie. Doomsday will probably be a huge hit as well but then it’ll be years until a movie sees this kind of success. 1

It gives those interested in romance or longing for it a more real connection on film. It’s also safe for the family to all go see it and there aren’t many movies that you know you can walk into with your kids or your cousins or your coworkers and just enjoy without thinking about awkward moments. it’s winning for a lot of those reasons. also escapism is kind of coming back. I think that’s why The Odyssey did really well a couple weeks ago too.
