What’s interesting is the generalization, because I know firsthand that a great many Argentines (large segments of the population) aren’t like that. Now I wonder, for example, what would happen if I let my opinion of Brazil be shaped by the comments and attitudes of Bolsonaro supporters, for instance, and said that all Brazilians are like that, and that the country is defined by those people?

Translation for the people who want drama: Argentinians can't play the victim talking in social media about a smear or dehumanization campaign going on when it's not a new thing for Argentinians to be bigoted. "Latin American brothers", you say? Argentinian has always talked **** about their neighboring countries, making disgusting comments about physical aspect, skin color, and other cultural details all because they think they are Europeans lmao. And it's not something exclusive from a political party, from left to right they are like that, so dont play the victim and pretend this is something that started because the world cup.

GRACIAS!

Translate: Well, it seems I live among and interact with the half of the country that doesn't think that way. People who are Afro-Argentines, descendants of Indigenous peoples, or descendants of immigrants from non-European countries. Or even people who do have “European” ancestry (if such a thing could even be claimed) but who are far from thinking that this is some kind of virtue or value that sets them apart in one way or another from other Latin Americans. I do consider other Latin Americans to be my brothers and sisters, and I’m sure I’m not some rare exception—which doesn’t mean there isn’t a large segment of the population that is just as you describe (again: that’s why we have the president we have). On that point, I don’t think it’s valid to claim that Argentines “are” like that, regardless of whether they’re on the left or the right.

Is there a massive anti-Argentina campaign going on online? Yes!

Do Argentines deserve it? Absolutely!

And I say it being from Argentina :ohwell:

Not everyone is racist, yes. But the majority of the country is highly xenophobic. It's time to hold ourselves accountable, mamas!

PG.

An insider with eyes and ears :tony:. Every country has their own issues, but if Argentina's issue is poking other countries, then foreign people will be angry, not that much you can do :trollga:

Argentina have shown their true colours over the last few weeks, she needn’t apologise. They can’t when they’re sore losers and always become violent and racist.
