Latino here so I speak with facts.

Argentina has always been a racist country that keeps calling brazilians and any football player of color "monkeys" and also saying they're Europeans and not Latinos because they have Italian ancestry yet they expect sympathy from Latinos? Most of Latino-America didn't care about them at all during the world cup because of this. It's not a "nueva moda", it's old as their racists asses.

As I said before in another thread most of football involves racism, misogyny, violence and homophobia,so CAN you expect some of these liberal and progressive-leaning artists to have sympathy for a football team like that?

Argentines are always jerks. I’m Uruguayan, my country is right next door, and they have a habit of claiming we’re part of them, that we aren't an independent country; it’s as if they look down on my country's identity. They deserved to lose and deserve to keep losing because they are nothing but a bunch of arrogant people who think they’re the best in the world; I say this because the majority of people in my country feel the same way. I understand your point, but my comment isn’t limited specifically to the World Cup as a sporting event and the reactions associated with it. What I mean is that, following that event, a very intense narrative emerged that recycles the old terms of “civilization or barbarism”—a narrative to which both you and I (as Latin Americans) have been subjected. The issue of “los perlas” is minor (and, in fact, I don’t think Rosalía should be the target of anything either), but it contributes to the portrayal of Argentines (as a people) as deceitful, criminal, savage, barbaric, etc. Does that ring a bell? It lies at the very roots of the colonial processes that both you and I know so well. The outcome of the match is of secondary importance, and Spain undoubtedly deserved the victory; what’s serious is what unfolded afterward, which goes far beyond mere sports or rivalries between teams.

Amigo, los argentinos son una porqueria y no hay más que discutir. Soy uruguayo y siempre fueron una mierda con mi país, nos desprecian y hablan pestes. All the examples you’re citing come from horrible people living in Argentina—people who clearly voted for the dreadful president we have today. Javier Milei. Similarly, in Brazil there are people who voted for Bolsonaro. Or in the United States, for Donald Trump. And they agree with their dreadful ideas. I don’t understand how that leads to the conclusion that “Argentina is a racist COUNTRY,” a statement that lumps its entire population into that category. Is there racism in Argentina? YES. Is it the most racist country in the world? NOT BY A LONG SHOT—it couldn’t even be counted among the most racist. And this isn’t about ranking the world’s most racist countries (something this “stan culture” forum would highly value) but rather about acknowledging that, indisputably, it is one of the countries immigrants choose to live in—a country that offers free, top-quality education and healthcare to ANYONE (literally, that’s how it is), where there were no segregationist policies, where slavery was abolished and the principle of “freedom of the womb” (meaning that the child of an enslaved woman was born free) was enacted in 1813 (!!!!!!!!). We’re talking about a country with a HUGE human rights movement, which mobilizes—with marches of 1 or 2 million people—every time our horrible president tries to tamper with any of our hard-won rights (in “pop” terms, which seem to be the only ones understood here, as if every event were a Copacabana-style gathering). The picture they’re trying to paint is unfair and politically dangerous in the long run.

Amigo, posta que tu fuente es tiktok? Realmente me decís o es una joda? Hay argentinos que son una porquería? OBVIO loco, como en literalmente todos los países del mundo hay gente horrible, incluido Uruguay. Que eso lleve al nivel de generalización que estás manejando es algo muy distinto.
