They’re made because there’s black people playing Greek gods who’re mostly presented as white in mythos and because Elliot Paige is in it. 

And Nolan is notoriously a “man’s man” when it comes to cinema. He is such a man’s man he can’t write good female characters even.

When I opened the theead I knew it's gonna be about races debates.

I've watched Odyssey.

While I also disagreed with some cast choices, more cuz they're picked cuz of popularity, which is understandable, like Tom Holland, I still enjoyed the movie as a whole. Especially the spiritual element.

Isn’t this the reimagined version? I think I read something about how they switched some core plots. Perhaps Poseidon wasn’t part of that which sucks. He’s my favorite Greek god.

Just saw the movie and even though Poseidon isn’t shown, he is mentioned throughout the movie.

Yes, in the movie he injures the Cyclops (Poseidon’s son) and this is the reason his journey is prolonged.

Such an amazing film! Made me feel so many different emotions! What Christopher Nolan did with the epic poem was just out of this world. And the cast! If you haven’t already, go see it!
