do you think random too? Imagine they had no idea who it was that lived there then see this on the news

I mean, its a relatively affulent area so an old person able to afford home there would be an absolute dream target for a common crook.

We'll see though. The suspect has been arrested, is a 26 yr old white cis male. Police are saying no evidence of political motivation currently.

Guys she was murdered in cold blood.

You can disagree with someone, you can think they are making things harder for you, but celebrating death (least of all a murder) just makes you look sub-human to the people you're against. Pls dont celebrate this outside of this site I beg

Can I suggest we try to be as respectful as possible and change the title of this post?

Fully aware her views and actions during her life were controversial to say the least, but let’s lead with kindness.

the hag of the UK is finally croaked!

she will be disdainfully remembered as an avid hater of gays and same sex marriage, defending racial slurs, wanting women in labour to be handcuffed to beds and dying as a Reformer :diane:

i've hated this witch for years :diane:

I am absolutely going to be happy with the death of a vindictive evangelical wannabe nazi who has personally contributed to political policy that has killed minorities for existing and used her twilight years to advocate for the import of American ICE style child abuse camps.

She advocated for death. And I'm not going to pretend I'm sad she's dead.

I think politics and polarization has killed kindness tbh.

But yeah, i would personally have made a more neutral sounding title myself on someones death that I did not like

I think its perfectly natural as a human being to feel certain emotions when someone we think is horrible passes away and I dont think anyone should "pertend to be sad"

But imo theres a big difference between those feelings vs outright cheering - even more so when it was a murder. Even natural causes would at least seem more appropriate to show "happiness" over it

I dunno. I just feel politics is getting more and more polarized and the more each side justifies certain things because they are the ones in the right morally, the more and more stuff will be justified by BOTH sides

The celebrations in this thread were from hours before any details of what happened had been made public.

The news broke this morning in the UK right in time for breakfast.

It wasn't until 4 hours ago that there was any public statement as to what happened.

I'm not going to celebrate a murder. But I'm never going to be sad that someone who would celebrate my death is dead. And I'm certainly not going to sit idly by and which people try to white wash the blood on her hands.
