What the other user said; he owns publishing not her masters. Her label owns her masters as far as I’m aware. Same for Gaga. It would require her to own publishing rights (which she doesn’t since she’s not a major songwriter of her catalogue). It’s similar to R Kelly, he has publishing rights to DWUW so anytime Gaga performs it he gets money (same for streaming the Xtina version) he just doesn’t get more of a percentage as an artist on the versions with him.

This is not true though, Gaga has acknowledged way more in recent times than she ever did before the trial.

But when was the last time since the court case that she’s publicly supported Katy, had pictures with her or spoke about her or acknowledged her consistently commenting and mentioning Gaga? Borderline none. Her only interaction has been diffusing LM hate towards her in 2018 after th court case and she’s no even so much as as acknowledged her existence since lol

Gaga (as we know) is a polite and positive person but let’s not pretend it isn’t obvious especially since Kesha’s case she does not care about that hack.

They have definitely interacted more post the trial than they did before.

Also, if she distanced herself it would mean she would legit have to stop performing her only relevant songs from over 10 years ago. All her number one hits, all her biggest songs are Dr Luke produced and written songs. Plus Luke owns the publishing so she earns the least out of anyone involved in those songs. If she did that she would have nothing to perform anywhere anymore for the public to be interested, her label would probably step in and force her hand to legally have to perform the songs and she’d get sh*t for performing them still.

She basically needs to get out of her contracts and rebuild from scratch to get even a semblance of her old success back basically.

 

I know that’s the case for some people but I don’t think the general public cares about that. Which was always the majority of her listeners. People still listen to Chris brown. She should apologize for all that. But I’m only looking at what she can do from a music standpoint. She would stop flopping if she simply made good music
