I feel like this is a step in the right direction, but yeaaa. it's not a well rounded body of work. I especially am kind of sick of the schoolgirl imagery haha

I don't rly get it cuz you don't go to a club or a rave and just stand still. Why should a high energy gig be any different?

Honestly, I think its such a generational thing.

Like I saw Robyn on Saturday and the crowd was predominantly 30+ millennials and the energy on the floor was insane. Orville Peck last night was the same, older crowd with old classic concert energy.

But then I go to concerts with younger crowds and it is just totally dead. And tbh, thats the same thing I see happening at clubs these days. Gen z being "chill" and millenials and up being the unhinged chaos gremlins we always were on nights out

Man that's disappointing. I don't like getting older but I wouldn't wanna be a part of that crowd.

I think its why I've started going to more rock shows. The crowds are generally better (for the most part)

Ye I think it depends on a lot of different factors. The band and type of audience, the venue, the day of the week etc.

When I saw Manson last year it was on a Saturday night at a pretty small venue and they had these weird bollards up all over the floor to prevent people from moshing unfortunately. But even then the crowd was very unnaturally quiet and still and I was literally the only one going crazy lol

But ye small rock venues are usually best for a better, energetic experience.

Honestly the smaller the gig the better tbh in my experience 

Smaller gigs tend to have less tourists lol

I saw Tool in the Manchester AO Arena a couple of years back and I'd always wanted to see them, and that was a kinda disappointing gig too cuz it was all seated . They were great although their setlist was a bit of a let down. Weird cuz you'd think for a band like Tool (heavy psychedelic metal) people would wanna move about a bit lol.

Ugh i hate when they put seats on the floor. Really ****s the vibe.

Insane that it happened at a tool gig. Even Iron Maiden dont do seated arena floors and most of their loyal fans need it 😅

So we were coming right from that high to Evanescence lol, and stupidly we expected it to be a similar vibe. So before the show we both got wasted and all hyped up expecting another high energy experience.........that wasn’t the case . The entire venue just stood like lifeless statues all the way through the performance, and the band did nothing to hype anyone up. 

2/3 times I saw them was for Synthesis with the orchestra. The crowd was mostly in awe taking it all in. But I like going for the music regardless of audience participation
