I just don’t really think today’s media ecosystem is really designed for mega stars. You can have viral hits, but people ultimately care more about the song than they care about the artist in particular because of the diversification of media feeds and algos, but also because people’s exposure to something like Beautiful Things is through viral vids that have nothing to do with Benson, so people are responding to the song more than him as an artist.

Truly not shocked. But Charli’s song is the first I’ve liked from this album thus far - though I’m not surprised it’s not performing, as much as y’all like to rave about brat, it also did pretty much floppage for singles except for the Guess w/ Billie remix.

He became extremely hated and mocked on Tiktok because of that moonbeam ice cream song. Same thing happened with Doechii because of that anxiety song.

She's not a singles chart act, so her team uses the pre-album window to drive up album pre-orders as opposed to driving up streams for a lead single.

Its just prioritising where they can perform best.

His fanbase is predominantly young women and there was a fair bit of anger at cheating accusations (yet they all love Taylor & Harry who cheated on each other lol)

why she's is in the same thread at the same line with Katy then?  Like, they are promoting Charli's album if she does better albums. Katy was better with singles as far as I remember so it's a distaster for her to get these numbers, incomparable to Charli.
