Sony Playstation 6 Rumored To be Set for 2027 Release

this echoes what another known leaker, Moore's Law is Dead, noted back in March. After securing its TSMC 3nm manufacturing allotment for Q2 2027, pulling out now wouldn't just cause a minor delay, as it would also cost Sony its priority fab status, resulting in a much longer setback. In addition, Sony already has a history of launching systems under challenging market conditions, so launching the PlayStation 6 under the current component climate wouldn't be anything new for the Japanese company.

If the PlayStation 6 is indeed launching in 2027, Sony is likely targeting a late-year release. As such, we may be only a few months away from the official reveal of a system that is said will deliver 4K, 120 FPS gaming across the board with enhanced PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution) and advanced ray-tracing performance.

If this is real, wonder how much this will cost with AI data centers hoarding all the hardware that causes all these shortage and insane price hike.

I feel like consoles these days always launch with a bunch of issues to the point it feels wiser to wait a year or two.

yeah, it feels quiet the most part. Maybe because AAA games take way too long time to develop and released than before.

I’m definitely waiting several years before upgrading from the PS5. I’m not convinced the tech has had a significant enough shift to truly warrant it, and I’m not really interested in AI upscaling. Maybe when ES6/KCD3/Middle Earth RPG release.

Sony is cooked. I don't understand this need to move now onto the next gen, especially in today's economy.

You'd think with such hardware, we'd have longer eras in between generations. 🤷🏿‍♂️

I was an early adopter of the PS5, but I'll definitely wait as long as possible for the PS6, maybe even go Pro.
