Maybe it’s because I’m a musical theatre girlie and love cast recordings/live sounding albums, but bitch let me HEAR every instrument on the track, please! And Miz Harlequin does just that We have forgotten our public MANNERS

BTW is most impressive and creative. listen, I think Chromatica has some AWFUL production! I don’t like a lot of the production on mayhem either. so again I’m really not dance/electronic bias Id say ARTPOP, Joanne, chromatica, and mayhem are my least favorites. I like how the fame , TFM, and BTW all felt cutting edge and ahead of their time , while her last albums feel unimpressive production wise - with Joanne being the most boring imo Pronounced like “Balenciaga” . gagzus 21,573
ARTPOP has her best production for me personally. It’s the only album where I can listen to the instrumentals on their own. BUT it is a dance album after all where the production can be seperate from the vocals where as almost all her other albums the production is to support the vocals. I feel like the parts don't come together as a whole to drive impact. What they did on JW, Ayo, etc. is interesting but still feels weak when put together. I agree that the engineering also sucks, but even if it were better, I don't think the production would be anything to write home about. PI has great production, I'll give it that but that's a Kevin Parker track lol

Not true, Harlequin is an amazing record despite it's mainly analogue instrumentals, and even Mayhem and TF have lots of live instrumentation But Joanne for most of the runtime lacks kick and bite, facing the similar issue of Chromatica, that is also very tame and lifeless at times for a Gaga record, Yea PI has a brilliant instrumental, but it gets drowned out by Gaga's horrendous vocal delivery.. JAD, CTM, DIC and maybe even Angel down are really cool in instrumental ways, but the rest are a so meh for a Gaga record. Especially having Florence fvcking Welch on such a meh song like Hey girl. She deserved a VIY or Edge of Glory level of song to realllllly go off, both of them did!
