Sorry to ruin everyone's day, but apparently Jim Carrey, Ron Howard & Brian Grazer are prepping a sequel to the creepy, commercially-successful live action version of How The Grinch Stole Christmas from the year 2000.

Whether you enjoy that (genuinely unsettling... cult classic?) version or not... what the hell?

Love love LOVED the original I still watch it every Xmas. But this is beyond unnecessary, Jim will NOT sit and get put into a practical suit for hours at a time again so they’ll CGI a lot of it and it’ll lose its charm.

Not to mention Taylor doesn’t do acting anymore since she’s the lead of The Pretty Reckless now and I doubt Christine will come back as Martha May. They should’ve just made him voice The Grinch in the other remake/reboot they did.

I think they’d probably in modern day use a mixture of prosthetics (which hqve improved greatly since the original) and some CGI to make it work but it won’t look or feel the same since the original film was fully practical effects with minor dated CGI.

And yeah I noticed that too he may have been a rotten human being but they should’ve respected his wife’s wishes, she’s only been dead what? 10 years yet lol

Loved this movie since it came out, watch it every year in December, and have an unhealthy attachment to Where Are You Christmas so intense that I’m begging Mimi to dust off the hard drive that has her version and release it. That being said, this doesn’t need to happen
