TaylorSwift 162,160
“Obviously, I’d love if there was a ‘Ratatouille’ sequel,” Oswalt said on The Daily Beast’s “Obsessed” podcast, although he stressed that a follow-up movie depends entirely on original director Brad Bird returning with a great idea. Oswalt continued, “I want the sequel to be not the same type of movie, but that same energy that ‘Terminator 2’ or ‘Aliens’ had, which is, there’s an expansion of the story that we that we actually need to tell… This isn’t just a money grab. And yes, by the way, we love the money, and we’re gonna grab it, but we’re gonna get the money by telling an amazing story with whole new dimensions that we didn’t even know beforehand.” “Ratatouille” was director Bird’s follow-up to “The Incredibles,” with both films winning the Oscar for best animated feature. “Ratatouille” also picked up Oscar nominations for original score, sound editing, sound mixing and original screenplay. The movie’s $623 million gross made it the sixth highest-grossing film of 2007. https://store.taylorswift.com
NUTELLA 26,129
"Obviously I want a sequel, but not one of those sequels where (xyz) happens..." So he wants a sequel but recognizes that there is no conceivable reason for one to happen? Okay. The end. Ratatouille is one of Pixar's most charming & unique movies Leave it the hell alone, for christ's sake edit- sorry @Rat Boy Edited June 16 by NUTELLA 3
Lord Axel 934
Ratatouille is pretty much my favorite animated movie of all time, but honestly I wouldn't mind a sequel since Brad Bird is a fantastic director - like yeah Incredibles 2 wasn't as iconic as the original but it still had its moments and overall I am glad it exists ʟɪᴠɪɴɢ ᴛʜᴇ ɢᴏʟᴅ ᴀɴᴅ ᴛʜᴇ ꜱɪʟᴠᴇʀ ᴅʀᴇᴀᴍ ϟ†▽✰𝒿 ~Ɐ
gagzus 22,732
He doesn’t want to do it if it is a money grab? Baby that’s why sequels in GENERAL exist unless it’s an epic that needs cutting up like LOTR. Even Star Wars was written as a one off movie and only continued AFTER it was a success. Hence why the original title for Episode IV was just Star Wars. Lucas didn’t even add episode numbers until AFTER ROTJ. Ratatouille was very much a one-off story idek where they could go next. doraemon 1,140
Ratatouille is a grower and a shower. But... Maybe the sequel idea could be revolving on Remy finding a protege?

We did a tour of the Pixar campus and got to hang out with [animator/director] Domee Shi, and she’s so great. We were like, “Have you guys talked about, uh… us ripping off Ratatouille?” Everyone loves it there, and it seemed like no one was really upset. That was the only thing we thought of: Are we going to get flagged for this? But lawyers cleared it; everyone cleared it." https://www.inverse.com/entertainment/oral-history-raccacoonie-everything-everywhere-all-at-once If we take his word for it I guess they were fine with it apparently it falls under a legal loophole where it's a parody and therefore not copywrite infringment. It was just a bit of fun I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
