Hasn't he announced this multiple times by now? There was a three month break between the ending of the Mathematics Tour and the opening night of the current Loop Tour. "Play" is supposed to be the first out of five albums from a new series of albums. He also teased the release of the next album in the near future...Ā 

So his "hiatus" will probably be a few months only, like a lot of K-Pop artists do before a comeback
