Surprised at all the lukewarm reactions. I've not been majorly feeling Ariana's music since Dangerous Woman, frankly and her singles just don't grab me now but this one is above average. Loving the lower register and spooky vibe, lyrics aren't as overly modern as usual (a lot of her stuff has that cringey element about it as its trying so hard to appeal to the young). Is no one going to be controversial and say it...could this be about Cynthia? I know it's about her relationship with fame and the parasocial elements of it but some of it sound as if it's about a personal relationship. Seeing as she's (allegedly) still with Ethan, who could these lyrics about a toxic relationship be about? Cynthia and her have reportedly fallen out and I've been thinking their overly intimate connection would sour eventually and Ariana seemed to be the one who stopped feeling it first. The title alone makes you wonder.

I think it's a beautiful song. I love the synths a lot!  

To me it immediately felt like Dandelion's sad sister. Which makes sense if Dandelion is the path from Eternal Sunshine to Petal.

This is exactly what I expected from the title and album cover, I don't know why. The chill, ethereal vibes.

She sounds beautiful and I like the moody, dreamy sound. Personally I prefer this to previous lead singles in recent years.
