Sometimes I like the "dope" vocal style, but the vowels or accents or however it's called can sound too dramatic and unnatural like how she pronounces "fine" here

No shade here, I come in peace etc, but I have a different take on her pronunciation of the word fine. It's not an accent she has adopted, she's trying to convey something, she trying to convey the uselessness, the inappropriateness, of saying to a sa victim 'you'll be fine' as if they have a cold or a grazed knee. So the phrase is singled out, given emphasis, she's trying to sound sarcastic, scathing, about the use of that phrase, that word, in those circumstances. That's my take on what's happening there.

They sound cool on an ALBUM but live and with gaga i enjoy more her raw vocals because she is so theatrical and emotional with them, which these vocoders hide and destroy

I get what you mean, but I honestly think REQUIEM blends those two elements incredibly well

We have forgotten our public MANNERS

What I don't love all the time is when she belts near the top of her range. A lot of the time it feels like she's spreading her voice thin (for lack of technical terms). And I always get a little anxious to see if she's able to pull it off live :rip:

Agreed. Her mid- to lower register is where the power is at. She can mix and sound amazing (Sound of Music) and her high notes usually sound very well-honed on record. When it’s live she tends to get carried away and technique can sometimes be sacrificed.

maybe that was a bad example, I'm referencing how she does that in many instances which removes that subtext if she's applying it to words of other songs. Like how "people" is pronounced "peopawl" here. I'm sure there'll be an official term for it I just don't know it

Well again, yes, there's a reason for this I think. She sings the song in two halves, kind of understated in the first half and then she wheels out the heavy artillery in the second half (you can see that guy start to go down the steps because he thinks she's finished and then he has to scurry back up when she starts thumping the keys again). People is a skinny kind of word when you pronounce it normally, so I think she has to broaden it out to allow her to give it some welly. As you can see, I don't have the technical term either, but I think that's more or less what's happening.

It's always funny each time I watch it and people think she's finished the song then she's like "not yet get a load of this" :ally:

Yeah i agree, but key parts of these songs (bridges and explosive endings for exampñe were subdued sometimes by then)

but well we have the normal live versions so i cant complain, i commend her for doing something so different, its nice to se her experimenting more.

I think every time she goes for a headset mic (like in Mayhem Requiem or TCB Film) she sounds nasal af and it kinda annoys me

Omg this, but atleast its kinda less nasal that the Monster Ball Tour, there she was like stuffed and gasping loudly on it all the time 💀😭

her voice really shines on a handheld one, the quality and saturation also suffers on the high notes on these headset mics.

It’s been so long since I last watched the MBT DVD (I don’t have a player anymore) that I don’t even remember how the vocals are like :emma:

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

dopega

The type of vocal delivery she does on Fun Tonight. She just sounds like she tries too hard and isn't really ”feeling” the flow of the music :enigma:

Smother Em Eh

Do like: TF/ TFM vocals, HML vocals, Her vocals in G.U.Y, Sexxx Dreams, J n’ D, Venus and ARTPOP. Also Disease and Killah

Don’t like: Blade Of Grass, DWUW cuz it’s too basic actually.

Economy

Maybe unpopular opinion but I think ASIB vocals are seriously underrated and its easily among top Gaga vocal albums

INLA

Is That Alright

ARUTW

Those are killer vocals. And even more average songs that arent masterpieves of the album like "Look What I Found" or the joke song "why did you do that" are pretty solid when it comes to the vocals :legend:

Recently I'm kinda obsessed with how she sings Or I'll be the villain and feed off the pain during the second chorus of Glamorous Life. Her voice sounds so raw and strong, I love it.

The only songs where her voice annoys me a little is Plastic Doll.
