DNC finally released botched 2024 autopsy

The Democratic National Committee — after months of both internal and external pressure — released a haphazard version of its autopsy of Kamala Harris’ failed 2024 presidential campaign on Thursday.

The report paints a bleak portrait of the party following the crushing loss to President Donald Trump, who carried every battleground state in his Electoral College romp, even as it fails to address some of the defining issues of the campaign, including Israel and Gaza.

In a statement Thursday, DNC Chair Ken Martin said the report “does not meet my standards, and it won’t meet your standards, but I am doing this because people need to be able to trust the Democratic Party and trust our word.”

And in releasing it, the DNC put a bright red disclaimer atop each page: “This document reflects the views of the author, not the DNC. The DNC was not provided with the underlying sourcing, interviews, or supporting data for many of the assertions contained herein and therefore cannot independently verify the claims presented.”

The DNC never received a finished report, according to a person within the party granted anonymity to share details, and the author did not turn over a list of interviewees or transcripts despite multiple requests. The report appears disordered, with factual errors and typos.

Democrats “have proven incapable of projecting strength, unity, and leadership, and voters have drifted away,”

The incomplete report doesn’t mention a number of key issues that continue to dog the Democratic Party, including the issue of the war in Gaza. In 192 pages, it sparsely touches on former President Joe Biden’s decision to drop out.

It also appears to lack any formal conclusions about what went wrong.

They didn't even finish it 'cause they already knew the top three reasons why we lost to that dipsh*t again.

1) Biden was an arrogant old fool for trying to run again. He should have bowed out with grace and encouraged a primary where Harris stayed out of it. I like the woman, I think she'd be a great president, but coming off the heels of Biden's presidency, where he largely failed to clean up Trump's mess quick enough for the American people, she had no shot in a real primary.

2) Democrats are toothless. MAGA and the GOP have literally bent the institutions to their will to cement a minority rule where 30% of the population is electing 70% of the political power in this country. They're only just now learning they have to actually FIGHT back to be an opposition party.

3) F*CKING ISRAEL. DUH.

The Dem establishment is so f*cking stupid, incompetent, useless, and worthless. Thank f*ck we're blessed with a plethora of great candidates this year 'cause the party itself is a goddamn trainwreck.

The fact that the DNC felt the need to conduct this autopsy, which skirts around saying the obvious, is, ironically, another reason why the Dems lost in 2024 and why voters continue to lack faith in the party lmao. Dems' energy would be better spent out of their ivory political towers (so to speak) and deliver actionable, tangible results to better serve their constituents, but they're too focused on navel-gazing to do anything meaningful to counter the minority fascists in power.

Literally just do something.

They didn't want to release it because the chair gave the investigation to his buddy and he didn't even try to do it. The bigger story here is that the DNC is still run by "insiders" who are wasting funds on bs. These autopsies are never necessary when the answers are so obvious.

Moore is Obama’s bestie. Allegedly he wanted a last minute primary when Biden dropped out so he could push Moore. He has none of the star power that big dawg had that I’ve seen so far and I think it’s safe to say his policies won’t be all that inspiring when/if he runs.

I literally saw a video of him the other day that came out against "Democrats needing a years long research project" into why they lost 2024, only for him to say that it's up for "international courts need to decide if Israel is committing a genocide" so he's already doing the same exact thing he's criticizing the party of doing lol. No new ideas and just talking in circles! Good luck courting votes in Michigan with that do-nothing Democrat spirit.

He gives industry plant. 99% of the country outside Maryland doesn’t know who he is but just google his name and you’ll see a ton of articles placing him as a viable contender. He has zero major accomplishments or rousing speeches. It’s giving Gracie Abrams.

It's just so frustrating that the party would rather take Super PAC and AIPAC money than win consequential elections with New Deal-esque candidates and policies. The bitter acceptance of Mamdani as NYC mayor illustrates that fact, and the fact that he remains as popular as he is while delivering results for NY voters is exactly the type of politician we need to bring about change. We need New Deal progressive reformers, not establishment Dems, to push the party and country towards the future. It's so clear that our institutions are eroding, and why the Dems don't want to preserve and maintain all that provides security for average Americans is insidious at best and nefarious at worst.

Not really rocket science.....  the whole party was behind Biden in 2020.  Even people that weren't thrilled he was the nominee voted in him.

 

Fast forward years later and I still don't exactly know what the Democratic Party actually stands for as a whole.

They're sitting here criticizing Arab progressive candidates and representatives for standing against Israel as if that isn't the bipartisan stance for the actual people living in this country.
