I know what you mean but at the same time I could argue further. My comment is more about, Madonna puts herself into the lyric quote of Charli song which might have numerous meaning but everyone suddenly take it as "dance music is done" which is funny to me.

Well if people took it as "all dance music is passé from now" then they can blame themselves, like the metaphor stopped existing and everything is literal, c'mon. From my understanding, Charli announced a switch to other genre, she doesn't want to make the brat over and over.

What Madonna did is that she wanted to gain some fraction in the press, therefore her cheeky attempt to put herself into lyric that was never about her. It is all the clickbait headlines game.
