Exactly. The way it's hated almost in this fanbase, the way everybody tramples all over the important message and its gorgeous delivery is just sad. 

It's a beautiful song in all possible ways, that bridge is indeed a heartwarming highlight and when Gaga played it on her piano as one of the surprise songs during the Mayhem Ball she sang both parts and it was still complete magic. This is song is the core of the album almost: confronting unnessary guilt, agency in female desire, dealing with intergenerational trauma, the warmth and importance of female bonds, navigating a man's world, the aftermath of violence and more etc. are ever-present themes on Joanne and Hey Girl distills several of those in one fantastic song.
