ARTPOPpers, where are you now?

I'm a little ARTPOOPster and I'm still here. :ally: not that I was a poster here during ARTPOP; I ironically didn't have reliable access to the internet during that time so I missed a lot :bradley: also I hadn't registered until well after ARTPOP was euthanized.

I loved Runway. It feels a little ARTPOP, a little Chromatica, and a little MAYHEM to me. It's also IMO got one cvnty leg in that "overly self-aware camp" genre as well, which I find very fun. :flower:

and honestly? it's not just a slay—it's powerful.

They said it was too drag and camp, and not authentic like ARTPOP  :mark:

We are here!

Runway doesn't give ARTPOP to me; she gives Chromatica deluxe track we'd get if Babylon made for a big single. She's cute though! I bump it on the way to work.

This is my Hannah Montana™️ lipgloss.

HOWEVER, we have Runway, her most ARTPOP-coded release in years and the same people aren't showing up for it.

Me when I don't understand what ARTPOP was all about </3. The MV is DEFINITELY ARTPOP, but lyricism... miss Ally was a better songwriter in her pop era and the production is giving Chromatica (other than the hook - the hook is *chef's kiss*)

That is my issue with a lot of Gaga's recent music I feel like her music identity and uniqueness has dampened over the years. Certain things that were unique to Gaga have not been in her recent musical output and I have seen people say that Gaga has stagnated or is just doing "her thing" over and over with nothing new but I feel the opposite is true and is the problem. I felt like Chromatica was an album that anyone could have made and was not a unique "Gaga" project and with Mayhem I feel like she took too much from the 80s time period and didn't transform it enough to do something unique or transformative with it, it as more like a pastiche of 80s sounds with funk/disco elements then something truly original. (There are exceptions like GOE and Disease though) It is the same with Hold My Hand, Runway and The Cure they are too GP friendly and have no unique musical identity or experimentation, it feels like Gaga has lost her musical identity over the years and yes I think Mayhem counts too with that. Also it feels like ARTPOP was the last time Gaga was willing to take risks musically and make something truly experimental and without caring about peoples approval and making something SHE wanted to.

Saying this after REQUIEM is honestly wild lmao

You educating another Gaga fan on what ARTPOP was all about? Really? You an expert in what ARTPOP is? Apparently, you're smarter than me. So please, explain what ARTPOP is and tell me why Runway doesn't fit the bill. :awkney:

Inside, we are really made the same. 🕊

Well it could be said that Requiems aesthetic is largely borrowed from BTW era visuals and is a rehash of things she has done before which is not inventive. (Some people have said that about the music on Mayhem as well and that it is too similar to BTW but I disagree completely) As for the music and new renditions a lot of that was much more like NIN and Depeche Mode then any of Gaga's music the second I heard Zombieboy I thought of Enjoy The Silence and was quite surprised but again that is sounding like other artists not herself.

Upon first listen I totally thought RUNWAY was similar to Aura in a lot of ways, totally gave me ARTPOP vibes:bye:

what do you mean where are we, the ARTPOP fans??? We are right here, lurking GagaDaily, waiting for the day Gaga surprise drops ARTPOP ACT II and we all come out screaming and partying :enigma:

It could be said.

It'd be without merit. Much like the constant queer erasure/bi erasure.

Ngl it sounds more like you have a narrow scope of what you think Gaga’s style is as opposed to her being derivative of other artists 🤷‍♂️
