Kesha’s tour hasn’t sold 60% of tickets

I have a feeling Ticketmaster/Livenation is pressuring labels or misrepresenting their data to push artists into larger venues because they either have deals to bring acts to the venues or because they own the venues. Kesha should have scaled down her tour and gone to cities that were under-represented in her last tour with smaller venues. I wouldn't be surprised if she's touring to generate funds for her next project.

Definitely agree on the last point.

Not sure LiveNation is misrepresenting tour data, I think its a combination of greed by record labels and that the touring boom has driven up production costs so bigger venues are necessary. Like I saw an interview about 2 years ago where BBNO$ was saying its impossible to break even as an independent act in venues smaller than 2k capacity.

And not music, but in sport I know my fave rugby team when they rent twickenham need to sell 60% of the 80k capacity to break even.

But also worth pointing out, tours take out insurance for cancellations so it could also be labels conducting insurance scams.

Seems to me some of these acts are gonna realize they have to do packaged tours with 3-4 other former midsized names.

Its what a lot of 80s bands are doing in the UK now to fill out indoor arenas/open air arenas.

I’m sure Kesha is like Katy, where only their old hits are popular, and many of the fans they’ve retained through new eras are the obsessed/unhinged type like this.

I liked the song Jade did with her 🥰

It’s bc the average consumer can’t afford tickets! And even if we did have a little extra money we probably have something we’ve been putting off to put it towards to.

ppl are done with paying ridiculous prices for shows and smaller artists will feel the sting of it first. One of the biggest issues with inflation of non essential products and services is that for the longest time, people were still continuing paying ridiculous prices for things. Now they are slowing down and it’s showing. And for artists like Kesha, or anyone who used to be big, it’s not a bad thing to book appropriate venues! Fans WILL come to theater/amphitheater shows

TaylorSwift

this is the same tour as The Tits Out Tour, she only added ORIGAMI! and Past Lives to the setlist, and she is playing in many venues she already played during last tour
