Don’t think I’ve ever met an irl annoying fan since the early ARTPOP days. On here however there’s a disparaging age difference and you can tell by how some people comment I’ll say that.

I don’t mean it like that haha I mean people’s age differences gives them such a clashing perspective on her work i can almost always tell by the way people comment who is an older fan (like me) or a younger fan.

Yeah both have pros and cons. For example I notice long term fans are more open to her expansion of music but we pull back from her change in songwriting, newer fans long for her to make either music that suits their taste (Rock being the most popular it seems) or want her to relive her peak because they were either too young or not even alive when it happened to have lived through it.

 

Older fans crave less ballads because we’ve been knew about her talent for singing and piano for instance since The Fame and have seen her do it hundreds of times over since 2008 live or on demos but sometimes we don’t see her old work through a modern lens and idealise it a bit too much. Where’s younger fans have a bit more of retrospect on her old work through a modern lens.

Obviously there’s other factors that affect how people view her music from their parents taste they were raised around, the other music they like, their environment and also their race sometimes plays a part too. Loads of unconscious bias reflects people’s opinions.
