Now she is acting "idgaf" attitude but had to response. Well she doesn't realize what she said wasn't anything groundbreaking and the delivery was very corny. Girl, just go back to your comfortable bubble, release a vinyl variant or something you can actually do:billie:

I just discovered I have severe anemia (again) and need to take a high dosage of Iron pills (the capsules themselves are definitely not vegan), I can't choose that, and iron needs extra Vitamin C + Folic Acid to have a chance in hell to work because external iron is super hard for the body to actually absorb. My neurologist AND regular doctor actually kept telling me to eat several steaks a week as well. :huntyga: So am I a monster now who should eff off and "stay mad" so she can feel better about being healthy enough? I actually do my best when it comes to looking for free range chicken and eggs, and the EU also has serious hormone and food standards for animals, cows especially, yet I normally still look around and compare the data I'm given.

This just retreating from a supposed convo when you have a platform like hers, cursing everyone out like she's a lot younger, that's not advocating at all. But this is sadly where we're at: She could've answered questions, made her statements more clear especially given her vagueness whom and what specifically she has a problem with (the industry? Every consumer?) but no, IMMEDIATELY being done talking seems to be in these days. I think she genuinely means what she says, she's probably (hopefully?) a nice young woman to be around and everything but... I don't get this style of "teen storms off" advocacy, personally.   Maybe I don't know enough backstory and she's made her positions clear hundreds of times and engaged in discussions but cursing and saying "stay mad" on a world stage doesn't help her cause, it might be making it even harder for open-minded vegans who are not famous. Always clarify, especially over the internet stuff can be easily misunderstood! Talk. Whatever. Just not this.

Anyway, I wanna be a Powerpuff Girl too.

I had to look up what that means sorry 😭 in spanish we call her "cáctus" (cactus) lol

Anyways yeah it suits you yayyy

In French she's Rebelle (rebel) but cactus is so much funnier!

This is going to launch me into a deep dive to find out how they're all called in different languages :partysick:

This is what modern discourse has been reduced to: back-and-forth bickering with zero substance, individualistic acts of "I don't give a ****, stay mad" and no attempt whatsoever to build or engage in constructive dialogue for a better society. Its just virtue signaling with extra steps.

I get it but its also hard to build, engage, or anything further with most people today. Their rhetoric is 100% truth to most and they dont care for other people's perspectives or even facts a lot of the time.

Well I'm disappointed, it looks like most languages went with the English names/a direct translation of the English names.

But the Catalan title sounds like "the superboobs" in French so that made my day even more than "cactus".

I think this is becoming something of an issue with every even non-politically coded problem recently. People who agree, basically, can't or don’t want to lay out their arguments and settle stuff without one party feeling the need to storm off. I've seen it so much the last year, that if I say something I might be repeating myself or at least re-phrasing, hoping I'm coming across clear. "Stay mad" and "Eff you" make it harder for everyone, especially with a big platform, where many people agree. I get what you mean, some people you can't really get through at all but even among normally kindred spirits it's all starting to get so aggressive so quickly... :wtf: I don't know too much if she's been very clear in the past though.

I really don't care either. idk why anyone feels threatened by this. Billie Eilish isn't going to end the meat industry. Enjoy meat.

She certainly could end it along with all of her peers (rich people), that's what makes this funnier

I understand that you're passionate about the subject, but this comes of as very out of touch and closed minded.

lower class people are everywhere. it can be your neighbor, your friend, a family member and even you one day.

it's sufficient to have your rent raised suddenly to have less money and not to be able to buy vegan exclusive meals.

She pretty consistently scoffs at poor people, not really sure what that’s about tbh.

Standing by her values in a way that stands virtually no chance of changing minds or material outcomes (which, imo, is what discourse is or should be about, especially in the context of activism)

To be fair, people don’t want to change their minds.

You have a bunch of “I just ate a burger” comments thinking it’s peak comedy.

It’s like MAGA. You might as well say F it and just laugh and move on.

I mean, I don’t think that’s true that no one wants to change their minds and I also think that the way she broached the topic is part of what triggers the obstinate “I just ate a burger” style response. When you more or less immediately condemn a large group of people, it’s not really shocking that they wouldn’t really want to hear you out.

I also think the way she framed it more or less alienates the folks who are functionally her biggest allies in advancing the ethical treatment of animals (meat eaters that want to scale back and end the cruelty of industrial farming) by more or less saying “you’re either 100% with me or you’re against me.” That’s just…not really how political coalitions work.
