Oh that would have been amazing. But keep in mind that scripts can change drastically throughout production and there's also the final edit which can cut out a lot. I'm sure the initial brief made more sense, Gaga seemed really invested in Harley and I think Harlequin was her way of going further with the character then what the movie ended up giving her.

True, scripts can change immensely and then you have the editing room. I really think she had a "bad streak" not because she can't discern a good script, it's that they changed so much during (JFAD) and/or after (HOG). More a streak of bad luck.

I wish she made an indie film or mini series about a girls trip revealing hidden motives, past and present grudges that come bubbling up, misunderstandings, things going horribly wrong, hidden jealousies, thriller/drama style (Sorry, I was just binging several literary thrillers and Jane Harper's Wilderness sprung up in my mind). I'm just dreaming away here. Or would also love a female ensemble comedy, she has great timing.

And this is how we get Lady Gaga to lezz out on the 4th and last season of Yellowjackets exactly exactly

I wanna see her acting with the girls for once, not pining after the leading man. We're due!

So is her tbh every single audiovisual work of hers ends up with men unalived :classy:

Lol exactly, too true. I loved that nod in Abracadabra where her dance partner in white is suddenly blindfolded and uh... not moving on the floor, let alone dancing, while she's writhing around next to him in a semi-cross formation having the time of her life (put in a trance by herself but that's another story). I was almost missing that particular touch this time around but nope, she managed to put it in the Mayhem era too. :queenga:

Honestly, none tbh, but ASIB is the best in her catalog. I have to say her acting career has been a bit mid so far. Hopefully she gets to play a normal person in a thriller someday, I think she would be so good at it.

I know how much ASIB means but also it's so heart-wrenching that I couldn't get to rewatch it even once. I'd say DWP2 is the best just because it's an easier watch and it was so fun.

Honestly, I’d really love for her to find a serious, ambitious director who would do with her, for example, what Yorgos Lanthimos did with Emma Stone in "The Favourite", "Poor Things", "Kinds of Kindness" or "Bugonia".
