No but how did it get validated? How did Katy go “okay, this is the one”? How did Capitol green light it? Without even talking about the producer, what made them think those were the songs that would put Katy back on the map? How did they hear “sexy confident, so intelligent” and thought it was the perfect comeback song? It’s been two years (or three?) and I still have so many questions… It really is an enigma for school books

@Ladle Ghoulash couldn't find it but I think it was like a screenshot of book ? And it talked about how beautiful it is that throughout the centuries, certain names have been called so many times, like the number of girls named Mary, the number of boys called Mohammed, etc etc., and all over the earth. I don't recall but it may also had something about the stars above hearing those names and continuously wondering, dreaming, imagining. And I remembered this because, you know. Yeah I just think when making an image the most immediate surface image being painted has to be compelling and this just sounds kind of flat to me which is ironic bc like you said, it should pop given how yellow and purple relate

This makes sense; it‘s kind of wilde though, how your comment sort of reads like a listener working their way toward some sense of clarity from the shadow of a song‘s nebulous imagery … maybe there‘s something to be said for a lyric that can evoke that shared sense of character tension, albeit a bit frustrating (or not, just musing into the erstwhile)
