aaronyoji 2,060
I’m always glad to get more gaga music but idk I’m still in such mayhem mode, I’m hungry for anything dark, not necessarily these side quests lolol - excited for requiem though, it’ll be exciting to hear mayhem deconstructed and recontextualized
Gardevoir 9,965
I think those songs are really good for a SOUNDTRACK. I wasn’t expecting anything else from them. Especially for fashion related iconic movie. They fit perfectly. I understand that this is not everybody’s cup of tea but some of you have to stop expecting everything that Gaga does to be this groundbreaking out of mind experience. Some things are just meant to be fun, not challenging, side things, that you can also easily move from. Killa 18,476
Glamorous Life seems like a mix of breakaway and kiss from a rose or some other 90s ballad thats not coming to mind. Kinda love It, its very melodic. Respectable 3 very different songs. For a remake, these songs are more than enough.
SevenWonder 4,631
I was pleasantly surprised with SOAW. I assumed from reading here all day that it would be some version of terrible. I really, really like. GL is fantastic. But I knew that would be the case.
calmar 22,763
These are all okay songs. Not amazing, not terrible. Good for a soundtrack like people have been saying. Well produced though.
Anderson123 41,602
Okay so all 3 songs are great and I love that she got this much involvement in the movie with the cameo and the music. I was already excited for the movie because it’s one of my favorite comedies so this is also great lol. Shape of a Woman is nice and I can see why it was picked as the song for the singing scene, it’s the pop one. Runway is also very fun but clearly something for the gays and just the vibe of the movie, Glamorous Life is gorgeous but maybe a bit too serious so that’s probably is after the credits. These are all great songs and I’m not sure if she plans to push this into awards season because they have potential to be there but Hold My Hand felt more Oscar song if you know what I mean. Runway was clearly written and recorded recently for the movie, the other two are Mayhem sessions tracks reworked for the soundtrack and I’m more than happy to have new music. monstertoronto 11,212
Just listened to them in order a few times. I think they’re very solid, glossy songs, perfect for a Hollywood movie about fashion. The first two are upbeat and immediate and I think we have to remember that songs for a movie soundtrack have more people vetting and approving them, and they have to fit a specific vibe and purpose. It’s not going to be the same as Gaga just being free to express herself. But regardless of the brief she was definitely given, I really like all of them. Glamorous Life is a great ballad, I love the chorus, Runway has totally grown on me after the video and I love it, and SOAW is my least fave of the three but I still really enjoy it, it’s really fun!
