Glory 2,271
VIY… GOE… HBDUWM.. 3 semi hits. i think GOE as the lead then Abra then VIY would have been awesome 1
GAGA IS GROOVY 568
It is a tragedy that Gaga's best album in years didn't produce more singles and music videos... VIY would've been such an easy hit! Imagine the music video too, Gaga all gothed-up and glam, wind machine turned all the way up and a small narrative arc with a gorgeous model à la You and I.... my mind wanders on the possibilities. warhol killah 8,854
They added the song title on the hype sticker, I still think it was intended to be a single at some point. In my opinion, the singles should have been Garden Of Eden, Abracadabra, then Vanish Into You. All these songs have that 2008/09/11 flair with a modern twist. Disease could have just been a deepcut. Maybe How Bad Do U Want Me during/after the tour, with (and I really hate tour compilation videos) with a video montage of the tour. The Dead Dance even if it was for a series felt unnecessary to me lol. Laxy 241
The answer is they're ****ing lazy and Gaga cares more about flopping and her legacy than she let's on and refuses to take risks.
Blackout19 14,807
the real question is.. why did they sleep on Free Woman? i am a free woman. ○●

HeavyCapiLover 4,376
This + Garden of Eden potentials have been weirdly ignored. One of them should have been a single, and they missed an opportunity to release it in may of 2025. I will never understand that. And as of to why they made Disease a lead single? Well probably bc along with the MV it would help set the tone for what was to come. But it was obviously not going to be a hit, too loud and weird, it's actually one of the least hit-friendly song on Mayhem.

Utterly bizarre. It should have been Abracadabra then Vanish Into You. I truly believe that, had it been a single, VIY would have become more beloved/associated with LG than Edge of Glory or Marry The Night. It is THE big, sweeping, epic love anthem from MAYHEM. They fumbled it, I must say. With each passing day, Disease (still a gem) as the lead makes less and less sense. Abra and VIY are the sound and soul of Mayhem. Roughhouse Dandy 13,077
Tbh I'm not sure why it matters. Maybe that's the reason. It kinda doesn't at this point in her career. We got the song and its great This is my Hannah Montana™️ lipgloss.
tylerjs 6,067
Idk I know I’ll get flamed for this but I just do not like VIY that much. It’s a great song, but my god her vocals opening at that high whining register make my brain melt. She can do it well obviously but why not just take it down an octave? It would’ve fit the song so much better. It’s because of the chorus being that high and strained that I can almost never listen to it. Disease was 100% a way better choice artistically and it represents MAYHEM way better imo 🇨🇺🇧🇸 “It’s one banana, how much could it cost? $10?”
PartySick 170,515
She probably wanted to. She wanted to perform it at the Grammys but they asked for Abracadabra instead. It's fine, a song doesn't need to get its own mini era for us to love it Whimsical bitch

Massive Monster 5,199
I still don't understand how GOE and VIY weren't made singles. So much potential in this album. Still a great era nonetheless, and I'll like to think it's not completely over yet ! Kind regards
RochesterJoannster 3,978
Vanish Into You has served a unique purpose that it will continue to serve for years to come. I don’t believe it needed single treatment, just like ARUTW did not need it despite being a painfully obvious contender Edited April 18 by RochesterJoannster
