MAYHEM ball grosses $420M in total

According to Billboard Boxscore, The Mayhem Ball grossed $419.5 million and sold just under two million tickets over the past year. This is Gaga's highest-grossing tour yet, one of the highest-grossing tours by a female artist in history (5th I believe) and also among the top 10 highest-grossing pop tours of all-time. 

Gaga has now amassed more than $1.1billion gross in total over the course of her career dating back to 2009 and is the sixth woman to join the billion-dollar club in ticket revenue.

Aside from the tickets genuinely being overpriced, this argument always cracks me up, as if a tour like The MAYHEM Ball employs or financially supports one person and not hundreds.

Part of the ticket prices is certainly scalping, scamming, and greed enabled by an industry monopoly, but part of it is almost certainly also to support the wages of these people when the cost of living, etc. is increasing

Also a large portion of the profit is being made by these gross companies and their CEOs, while the artists still make a good bit I’m sure

I mean, of course only a fraction of the grossings actually go to Gaga herself after expenses, salaries, venue rental, insurance, label cut, promo etc

 

Still over priced tho. Tours that do way less per show still make money
