LGAte 583
Runway sounds like it’s gonna be a hit tho. Two powerful streaming artists from two different genres coming together plus a big radio deal usually means good things even when a song is mid. add in the fact the snippet actually does sound catchy and well produced- I think we are in good hands. ARTPOPSYCHOLOGY 6,276
I saw the title of the thread and initially thought I would agree with you, but the fact that you shaded all of her iconic songs doesn’t sit right with me. That being said, I do have mixed feelings about the fact that she was recording music all for this movie. I just don’t believe it.

Apec 12
I'm sadly going to have to agree here with the mixed feelings about such a concept, if true. Collabs cage her, which is quite obvious. I mean, a written-for-Britney Spears song reworked to fit Beyonce because she didn't do "electro"? Telephone is my least favorite from TFM for a reason. Sorry, just my opinion. JnD is hire-a-rapper on speed but that was the purpose, I guess. Gaga could've made RoM even more ethereal and unique by herself. Sour Candy: 'Nuff said. Sine From Above is not my favorite but Elton's vocals robbed it from whatever it had even though his own songwriter wrote it for him. DWAS is indeed 70% Bruno like someone said (as if that's a good thing) and him trying to mask his thin voice isn't for me; besides I'm here for Gaga. Hearing her sing it solo at the Mayhem Ball was a thousand times more engaging and beautiful, especially the verse she wrote. Maybe if she he could use time travel magic to collab with female Soul or Rock/Rock 'n roll legends and 80's icons like Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, Joan Jett, Annie Lennox from her Eurythmics days (my dream Even though Annie tried to start that tiff about Jo Calderone she still appeared during Together at Home, where her daughter outsang her but well, she's retired), Kate Bush, Joni Mitchell, Maggie Reilly from her Moonlight Shadow days and many more but... Right now? I dread how she'll need to twist herself into a pretzel to either fit in with the hallmarks of untrained voices, how she'll have to clash with breathy, airy, whispery nonsense or do the rap features she avoided where possible (except for JnD and The Deleted One but those were, again, the point I guess) MULTIPLE TIMES since we've already got Doechii rapping as far as I could tell. Protip for those who don't like the DWUW Christina version (like me): Add the live Alan Carr version. It's brilliant, the emotion slaps you in the face and then smacks you off of your seat for good measure - all with perfect vocals. Oh, and when I talk about my love for 80's music - no, not wishing for any collab with Madonna I'm all for women lifting each other up which Gaga has done time and again but as a woman myself, I've given the new and newer ones TOO many chances tbh (so much boredom listening to the debut/newest albums of the newbies). Not my taste at all. Maybe she could work alongside female producers? That would be cool! Gaga has been the only contemporary musician from 2008 to now to have and keep my interest, with everything she does nonetheless. I agree her collabs are her weakest. She knows how to match a vibe while her partners probably don't (apart from Tony, their chemistry was crackling. Her and Sting also really worked really well together the few times they were on stage together) so in the end everything is less her. She needs to be full on herself if it's not a 50/50 ballad and even then... Apparently an unpopular opinion to want your fave solo but if there's an LP/EP side project like Harlequin, let it be her exploring a particular sound or sounds. Solo.
