Kanye's Bully debuts at #2 on Billboard 200 but his label posts it's #1 album

BTS’ ARIRANG rules the Billboard 200 albums chart for a second week, earning 187,000 equivalent album units.

Ye's new album BULLY (which was supposed to be released on March 20 but was postponed by a week to not be blocked by BTS) debuts at No. 2 with 152,000 equivalent album units earned in the tracking week ending Thursday, April 2. Of that sum, SEA units comprise 96,000 (equaling 98.43 million on-demand official streams), album sales comprise 56,000.

During BULLY’s release week, Ye staged his first major U.S. concert in nearly five years, playing SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif., on April 1.

First-week sales of BULLY were aided by its availability across multiple color vinyl variants, deluxe boxed sets containing branded merch and a copy of the CD, as well as signed vinyl and CD editions. x

 

The album arrived at physical retail on March 27 (on CD, vinyl and cassette), and at digital retail and streaming services on March 28 and since it was late on streaming  his label posted their own numbers for full week instead of Billboard's numbers.

Isn't it disgusting that Janet's career was destroyed over a nipple, she was blacklisted, and she was not able to  revived her career.. but Kanye, a Nazi, giving a victimized "buy my album" apology, and people are giving a second chance, like nothing ever happened.

It's sad that antisemitism is only brought up as a point of critique in order to shut down people who dare not love Israel, while genuine antisemites(Kanye) are doing well. Like I wish people who think Zohran hates Jewish people would allocate at least half of their energy to Elon roman saluting, or to Kanye selling swastika merch.

Yep, part of why Kanye's been able to avoid any real blowback (at least until now..) is because of how polarised & politicised the concept of antisemitism has become in recent years. 
When you tar everything with a word, the word loses impact & meaning.

Well acknowledging all of his misdeeds, explicitly condemning what he doesn't stand for in his right mind, advocating for the good he *does* stand for in his healthy state, being transparent about the monetary gain from the offending projects/merch, and offsetting that with contributing matching funds directly to the communities he hurt would be a good start. 

I know not everyone agrees with any route other than permanently discarding him and that's fine, but it's pretty much my job to believe that anyone can come back from any mental health crisis if they survive it.
