Idk about y'all but I love this song. Maybe it's because I'm getting engaged this year to my man but it's so sweet and relatable. The final chorus has so much emotion in it.

I think if she sang the song in a lower note or something, I'm not a singer or a musician so I don't know how to say, if it's like octave or what but  maybe I would like it better 

But also the melody bothers me a little but I can't figure out why

Also this lyric doesn't make sense for me so that also bothers: "hold me until I die and I'll make you brand new" ...??

The meaning overall is nice, and tells how she feels protected with Michael  but it's not enough for me so I can just feel happy for her while I'm skipping the song

I think the “hold me until I die and I’ll make you brand new” is not about him becoming brand new after she dies so much as he will become a changed person by having loved her his whole life. That being said, I basically agree with the sentiment of being happy for her while also never feeling the need to listen to that song lmao

I have come around to the view that BOG is indeed the weakest song on the album (DWAS is the song I would discard, but that's because I think it doesn't belong rather than because I think it's no good).

I don't think BOG is a bad song either - I don't skip it - but I think it lacks the vitality that runs through the rest of the album, and yeah, it's a bit dirgey.

Sonics are Gaga's thing really, not lyrics. It's not the first time she's had the guy ask her a question and then give him an answer to which, if he had the right of reply, he would respond with 'Eh ?'

Well idk I actually really love a lot of her lyrics? The way she plays with words and imagery, she has her own way of writing poetry which I love  and so many iconic lyrics as well, even if they're campy. I guess that's why these ones bother me. But I agree it's true that there's definitely others that are like   as well lol

Aside from the singles, "Blade of Grass" is the song I first heard off of MAYHEM, because I may or may not have received the song files early in Google Drive and I started randomly clicking on one. I loved it immediately and could picture Miley singing it. 

The familiar chord progression is also found in Bad Romance, VIY, APT, Viva La Vida, and many other songs, which might be why I like it, because that progression is so satisfying to me. 

I don't love the lyrics, but I'll be honest – I don't always love Gaga's lyrics. Sometimes she's brilliant, but other times, I'm wondering how you can be "in the shallow" while also being "far from the shallow now." Let's blame Michael for the lackluster lyrics in this case.

But the lyrics don’t say they are in the shallow, it’s just repeating the phrase after saying they’re far from the shallow.
