Zendaya Said People Who Don't Get Beyoncé Hype Is A Red Flag

Except Taylor is doing 547 variants for each albums, with a new releases or reissue coming every year or so. LEMONADE got one vinyl, one CD and one book, sold later. RENAISSANCE got two vinyl and one CD. COWBOY CARTER had five vinyl, the most she ever did, and one CD. And unlike Taylor, you don't need to purchase multiple editions to own all the music. Sure Beyoncé's fanbase isn't as wide, but even if they were the exact same size, Taylor would sell more with those aggressive strategies, just common sense.
But very much like Taylor Swift, she's selling stadiums. 1,6 millions tickets sold for the CCT over 32 shows, 2,8 millions over 56 shows for the RWT. I'd say people care. Just because YOU don't (which is okay), doesn't mean it applies for everyone/

As for the political stuff, maybe she doesn't write, but she puts her name on it. It's also released under her label. I don't know why people keep putting that image of a brainless woman on her, but it feels deeply problematic (and a bit racist tbh) She's in charge of everything, she approves (or not) everything, she controls everything. As for interviews, maybe you're right. Or maybe they were instance in the past were interviewers asked her really stupid/hurtful questions, and she doesn't need to deal with that anymore. I mean, it's obviously working for her, why would she bother? Especially now with three children. Or maybe it's both, who knows. Doesn't change the fact that these stadiums are packed, every time.

Sorry for the essay lol

Is the name Taylor Swift a trigger for yall or what jesus ****ing christ

I still don't get the hype lol. She is a great vocalist and performer, but she doesn't write or produce her music, she doesn't give interviews because she'd say tons of problematic ****, and the only times "she" is political is through songs that other people write.

With the hype she gets online you'd expect her to sell as much as Taylor Swift yet she is very far, so imo it's trendy and cool to like her on social media but people barely listen to her music or actually care about her

It's the spectacle for me, rarely stream her but those live performances are on another level. :lolly:

you can dislike or not relate to her music but as a vocalist and performer, she is undeniably talented....

i would much rather have someone whos an amazing vocalist than someone who can write and cant really sing.

the greatest singers like whitney houston never wrote music....

like listen to her sing love on top live where she sings 4 key changes, and tell me she isnt talented.

i dont even stan beyonce like that but to say you dont get the hype is weird.

traylor is the one who doesnt deserve her hype. she cant sing or dance, and can barely claim songwriting after the mess that was her last album. beyonce, gaga, ariana are 10x better vocalists yet somehow they dont sell as many records. the over hyped one is miss traylor

also a lot of the hate for beyonce comes from racist trumptards that hate to see a black woman successful

I'm not a fan, nor do I hate her. I just don't vibe with her sound and message.

That's really about it.

Vocal performance, vocal production (music production overall tbh), live performance production conception and design, artistic direction, and, even though it’s not traditional songwriting or the songwriting one expects, songwriting. It takes a trained musical ear to hear many lyrics and melodies from different songs and stitch them together to make something new (YA YA being one of her best recent examples).

with all due respect, no. her vocals are okay but defo declined with age i just dk, defo not what they used to be. dont like the deepness in her voice but thats just me

i get the impression she gets others to do things for her, she had work ethic and she brings stuff alive but is it soley her idea? hmmm

if beyonce gets this much hype, defo Gaga should have more. Ariana should have more hype. even Tate McRae should have more hype

The most apt analogy I have for Beyonce and her work is Steven Spielberg. Just because he doesn't write every single movie he directs, does that negate his work? Beyonce is similar in the sense that both have a very clear artistic direction, hire people to help make that vision possible, and add their signature flair to each work they make to make it their own. Should we discredit Aretha Franklin because she didn't write "Respect" all on her own? Being able to collaborate with others and having a vast musical knowledge to sample both Nancy Sinatra and the Beach Boys in a country/dance-rock track is talent.

Beyonce's documentaries, such as Life Is But a Dream, Homecoming, and the Renaissance Tour Film, illustrate that she doesn't just hire a writing camp and joins in the studio later and gives no input. She is actively involved in the room, riffing with producers and writers, trying out different harmonies, melodies, and lyrical arrangements. Sure, she's done shady business in the past regarding credits, but that shouldn't diminish her work since outright. The Trilogy Project, Lemonade, and Self-Titled are arguably the most authentic work she has put out (along with B-Day) as each project cannot be divorced from her experiences, artistic lens, or work ethic.

If people have a personal preference of one artist over her, that's totally fine; however, to discredit her work outright because of one's preference without peeling back the layers to her artistry is at best a misjudgment, and at worst misogynoir, as far more mediocre white artists are praised for doing the bare minimum to how much she gives for each project.

And yes, Gaga and Ariana should and deserve more hype. Gaga is a virtuoso, Ariana has an amazing voice and ear for melodies and harmonies. All three of them deserve more hype for how much they excel in their fields. Ariana and Beyonce in particular are phenomenal producers and the amount of layering in their recent work is transcendent.

I don't know much of Ms. McRae, but I have yet to be as impressed with her as I've been impressed with the aforementioned artists or those within her generation as I just don't see her vision compared to Gaga/Ari/Bey/etc. whose vision and voice is clear and focused enough to cut through the noise.
