Donald Trump has resurfaced a two-year-old article about Lady Gaga's father in what appears to be a desperate move amid the U.S.'s attacks on Iran this weekend On March 1, the 79-year-old Commander-in-Chief posted to his social media platform, Truth Social, highlighting that the 39-year-old pop icon's dad, Joe Germanotta, 68, backed him during the 2024 presidential campaign. The Republican merely shared the old New York Post's headline, "Lady Gaga's father endorses Donald Trump in 2024 race, talks migrant crisis: 'He's a patriot.'" X The article is crazy full of ads but it goes further in depth with what Joe has said in support of Trump (being anti-immigrant, lacking common sense, blaming his restaurant's issues on covid closures rather than his own reputation and a possible rat infestation, etc). On the one hand, I really want Gaga to do more to prevent Joe from going on TV and using her name for clout to spread such hateful and idiotic things. On the other hand, I totally get how it feels to have MAGA family members so I empathize with her how maddening must it be to know a large portion of your dad's customers come in purely because they're your fans only to know your dad consistently votes to make them second class citizens. For me, it would be SO easy to go no contact and to tell mumsie to make a choice. There really isn't grey area in my mind about it because I believe people who support nazi's ARE nazis.
