Here's the thing:

I fully support the Kurds. They have faced a lot of prejudice and deserve their own independent country. However, this will alienate Turkey, ruin progress with Syria, and keep Iraq away from us more than it already is. The Kurds deserve freedom, but strategically for the US and West as a whole this is not the bets idea.
