It would be nice if we were living in a world where an opinionated (in the best way possible) black woman could have a decent shot at winning Texas, but it is what it is for now. And I think she's able to take a lot from the race with her for the next time. Also pretty sure majority of people who would have voted for her will be voting for Talarico, not sure it would have been the other way around. She's pissed off a lot of leftists with her stance on Israel etc so I think she'd have ended up getting a Kamala-esque reception if she had won The gays know how to party

I also saw that interview, but the bones are good, so over all I'm happy she's there and vocal and interested in running for something, maybe not this cycle, but down the road. It's also important for the party to "deal" with less party lined candidates. saving people, hunting things - the family business
REALITY 80,162
I liked both candidates, but Talarico definitely had a better chance of defeating Republicans. 𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔪𝔬𝔫𝔰𝔱𝔢𝔯 𝔱𝔬𝔯𝔢 𝔞𝔴𝔞𝔶 𝔦𝔱𝔰 𝔪𝔞𝔰𝔨 𝔞𝔫𝔡...𝔦𝔱𝔰 𝔣𝔞𝔠𝔢 𝔴𝔞𝔰 𝔪𝔦𝔫𝔢.
Monstermilo 5,471
i was happy with either one of them, i do love that jasmines one of the few whos not afraid to stoop to trumps level of petty but in texas, i get why she would lose to james...... she remains one of the most outspoken ppl on the left and im sure she has a huge part to play in the next few years in defeating the trump admin

Texas is primed to turn blue and we must remain united because this is bigger than any one person. This is about the future of all 30 million Texans and getting America back on track. With the primary behind us, Democrats must rally around our nominees and win. I’m committed to doing my part and will continue working to elect democrats up and down the ballot.” - Jasmine Crockett And why she is so respectable/admirable, she understands that it is about bettering the state of texas and nation as a whole and isn't letting her ego affect her ability to now help support Talarico, but also continue to do the work she does.

No shade, but she’s a dogshit candidate irrespective of her race lmao. Her entire campaign was petty personal grievance + anti-Trump sentiment. She could’ve won the primary (and could probably win the general) if she actually focused on policy that helps the working class instead of making her message all about her vs. Trump. Like the fact that this is the ad she made to launch her campaign is still so insane + delusional to me. Yes. “I’m not Trump” is a 2020 message. Those times are done. We are seeing that type of campaign is a losing game. You have to actually OFFER people something and talk about the issues. Jasmine could be a great candidate if she chose to do so, but she took the lazy route IMO. She thought being nationally recognized would make her win. 2

But I think it's good that she ran and that the rest of the party can see what works and what doesn't. She would definitely win in an already blue state with the campaign, but yes sadly it's Texas we are talking about. I love how fearless she is but she needed to think a little deeper with how she did that campaign. She appealed to people who were already gonna vote for her regardless, and didn't do much to sway other voters. It's devastating to say, but Texas isn't a state where only bashing Trump is gonna convince people... we're talking about people who have heads up their asses and are too quick to defend that shitbag for anything he does. She needed to focus on policies and appealing to the masses. But such a win for Texas still with Talarico, because I have hopes he could help turn TX blue
Lord Mayhem 3,414
That's a lot of blue on that map. Gagaism 12,471
A bit OT but his surname Talarico in Brazilian Portuguese refers to the person who gets someone else’s partner or a homewrecker
