Taylor's got by far one of the most little-known list of #1 songs in history. Not only would the average person be mystified that a lot of these songs had gone to #1, they'd be unaware of their existence in the first place. Rihanna's hits came at a time when charts were reflective of the general public's genuine taste whereas now it's all about who's got the most obsessed fans who will mindlessly stream a single day in day out meaning that charts become all about how sheep-like an artist's fans are. #1's are now more fan-driven than ever before, with very rare exceptions. Her earlier #1's are far more recognisable but anything after Look What You Made Me Do will leave the average joe scratching their head. It seems every era, she has at least one #1 that goes to the top for one week, makes no impact whatsoever and yet it adds to her #1 tally as if it means something. 9 out of 14 of these songs will be completely bewildering to anyone who isn't a Taylor fan, a chart monster or a music nerd.
