There was literally an interview that was like 60 Minutes or something like that. I remember she was in the back of a limo being interviewed and the interviewer legit asked Beyonce “do you have anybody you think as your competition?” And she said “I don’t think I’m competing with anyone but if there is one artist I look at as my equal it is Gaga.”

No I actually just disagree with you. 
 

I agree anyone can have an opinion.

 

but there are specific things that specific artists contributed and when you generalize them all as great in the same way it kind of actually hurts some of the artists who went for more critical acclaim instead of commercial.

 

this is why Swifties get away with giving Taylor soooooo much credit when we all know artistically she is on the lower end of impact. 
 

point blank…Beyonce did not start looking at her career differently until Gaga directly flipped the entire industry and made them re-think their approach to the pop star. 
 

this made Beyonce react. Before this, her music was the same subject and style with very intentional commercialization and no risky high brow art or experimental methods in release. 
 

I’m tired of people saying “they both are on the same level.” 
 

I didn’t talk about level. I am talking about impact. Impact that came from the brain of Lady Gaga.
