BTWB's North American leg would have been a flop

Live Nation stated that a little less than 200,000 tickets will be refunded for the 21 canceled concerts.

That means that Gaga has sold an average of 9,500 tickets per concert in arenas which could contain an average between 13,000 and 15,000 seats.

Live Nation has also mentioned that the 21 canceled concerts have reported about $25 million, which represents an average of $1,19 million per concert, which is below the American leg's average concert gross of the Monster Ball Tour.

Let compare the Billboard's numbers for the first five concerts in North America with other pop artists.

Lady Gaga Justin Bieber

Tacoma Dome Tacome Dome

14,185 20,259

Lady Gaga Justin Bieber

Rose Garden Rose Garden

8,853 14,550

Lady Gaga Madonna

HP Pavilion HP Pavilion

11,465 25,907 (12,950 per show)

I also had the chance to attend the final concert of Gaga in Montreal, which was amazing. But here too, Gaga could not completely fill the arena.

According to the Journal de Montréal (Montreal's biggest newspaper), there was exactly 13,650 people at the concert at the Bell Centre. The Bell Centre is the biggest indoor arena in Canada and the second biggest in North America, it can easily hold 17,000 people in a stage configuration like Gaga.

Bell Centre Bell Centre Bell Centre

13,650 15,870 16,918

(This is a picture I took at the Montreal's Bell Centre exactly at 9:12 pm, the show started 6 minutes later at 9:18 pm. You can easily see the empty red seats on the left and right. You can also notice the lack of people in the bottom of the Floor/General Admission.)

I wish to say that this post is not to disparage Gaga but I like to be objective and may also show a large part of the decision to cancel completely the rest of the tour.

This isn't true, because many fans aren't refunding their tickets. A lot of them are choosing to keep them for memories of what could have been & for their respective events, such as the NYC frame-project that was done yesterday.

okay i must say i agree it would not have been incredibly successful, but was not the reason the tour was cancelled. she wouldnt fake/over react an injury, even if she had sold 5 tickets in a 50,000 seat stadium. She wouldnt have allowed it to be for that reason.

I think the reason was because she has been out of the public over a year, not had any material out for a while, was too risky.

This is why the tour shouldnt be re-shcheduled, people wont buy tickets lol

Gaga wasn't even on stage yet in your picture. I was at the LA show and people didn't start completely filling the seats until she came on.

When you refund your tickets, you can keep it.. It is just the money you have back.

Every places is different, we are in a French mentality city, people wait until 8:30 to start the show, not like in LA where people come late at the last minute.

i have said in an above post that the NA leg wasnt doing amazing but was not the reason for cancelation. Gaga would never allow them.

So why she sold only 13,650 tickets in a 17,000 seats capacity for stage configuration like that ? Numbers talk by themself.. Yes I'm also a Madonna fan but I admit she fkg flopped her too in Europe, so be a little objective please.
