She has had this aloof, jaded relationship with her public image since 2020 (QFTC) and imo it boils down to the fact she just does not want to answer for the discourse about her life or her artistry. Taking things seriously has cost as much as it has afforded Mrs Del Dufrene in her career. So it would make sense that her solution now to stay around, making and releasing music, being a horny psycho-tradwife Southern Snow White, is to troll the mainstream and constantly subvert her legacy in contemporary pop to distinguish herself from the conversation, the clones, the whole picture. Like this video is verging on self-parody she dgaf

E.g. the iconic picsart era, her persistence on this muddy muffled sound, the album being called Stove

Doesn't make the work objectively good or bad (I think it's fine, I like the sepia) and I'm not defending her - it just iz what it iz

I would've liked more variety with the clips but it did get better later on. A song about cooking for her husband was never going to have a high budget video so this was alright for what it was. Better than last era where we only had one video. I think the home video footage adds to the eerie vibe of this song, it just sounds like a woman who's playing the role of the devoted housewife but is going to secretly poison her husband's food, like with the "you know how bad I am with an oven" lyric. And yeah, calling the album Stove isn't a way of announcing she's a trad wife, it's much more on-brand for her to make a Sylvia Plath reference.

I mean, it's certainly an interesting song.... but the visual is really boring especially compared to past videos.

i've never been the biggest Lana fan, she's defintely got a singular voice & vision and I can respect her contributions to pop culture but she's just not for me at all lol
