RochesterJoannster 3,737
It was a gift for fans, and did serve its purpose in many ways! 1 minute ago, 27monster27 said: I still for the life of me cannot understand why this didn't get a single release. At that time, Million Reasons was just finally getting its first steady increases in airplay, and they probably didn’t want to mess with that.
Lucas 28,958
Such a nice video indeed! I feel like this fanbase never talks about it, also that's the only Gaga video that has some comical scenes in it I think?

If she had held it for a while it probably could’ve been! For example it could’ve been launched around Coachella. Unfortunately US radios were sleeping on Million Reasons and it didn’t take off until the Super Bowl, nearly 4 months after it was originally released British social ladies with upturned pinkies, glasses clinking // xoxoTEANUS

You're right actually, forgot about Telephone. But in my mind I was thinking more about cheesy comical moments (like when Gaga got hit by a branch or almost fell from the horse). It's a different type of comical in Telephone imo if you know what I mean

Unfortunately US radios were sleeping on Million Reasons and it didn’t take off until the Super Bowl, nearly 4 months after it was originally released It's always so insane to me just how rigid this era was. The trilogy songs work so well that it makes sense that they were the ones chosen, and I can't imagine other ones (even A-Yo, although it would still be interesting) taking their place. The Cure was chosen for Coachella because Lady Gaga and DJWS liked it, and it was speculated to be a Sonja tribute. By the Joanne World Tour she was trying to do the whole "Joanne B-Side" thing that Richy mostly ruined so then no more singles from the main album their either (except for the piano version of Joanne). Idk if we will ever get something like this again. he/him/his

TheMontebello 830
I love it. I was a little afraid Gaga would never go back to her usual Gaga style during Joanne and this video showed us she was still there. RochesterJoannster 3,737
I love how John Wayne’s video used a self-aware style comedy. It’s a great song and I’m glad we got a video for it, which gives many fans their only likable Joanne video (obviously this doesn’t apply to me, I love all four). She does this self-aware style in The Dead Dance too, which actually makes that one a better video than its song would suggest. I think that video would be much worse if she was trying to take it seriously, which works in a beautiful song like Abracadabra.
