Christy Romano shares cancer diagnosis (Kim Possible)

Christy Carlson Romano is providing an update on her health. 

The Even Stevens alum got emotional while sharing that she recently received a positive result from a cancer screening test. 

"I got the results back a little bit before filming down in Florida," Christy said in an Instagram video Feb. 17. "My husband's came back completely negative. Mine did not come back negative."

"I'm sure people think I'm overreacting," Christy said through tears. "But I'm not, because cancer is pretty serious. Man, I have two little girls." 

For Christy, the decision to get the test in the first place was partly inspired by a history of cancer in her family and by her late friend James Van Der Beek, who passed away on Feb. 11 at age 48 following a yearslong battle with colorectal cancer.

Although the Kim Possible star admitted that she was "nervous and a bit scared" about her screening results, she is also trying to stay positive, highlighting that she has an exciting memoir in the works and a strong support system in her family. 

"When you're somebody like me, you gotta take life a day at a time, really be grateful for all the amazing stuff around you," Christy said, adding, "So know that I have a loving family around me to support me, and gonna keep fighting for answers and eventually giving you updates."

I hope she heals fast.

Cancer is honestly my biggest fear in life, there is too much uncertainty about this disease: will the treatment work? will radiation give me another cancer? will the cancer spread? will the structure of the cancer cells change? with this change offer more or less survival chances? will it come back if I beat it?

Hey you may want to change the title. As the article states, she did not get a cancer diagnosis:

 

The 41-year-old—who shares daughters Isabella, 9, and Sofia, 7, with husband Brendan Rooney—went on to note that the result does not equate to an official diagnosis, explaining that her next step is to get a PET scan, which is an imaging test that evaluates cellular, metabolic and chemical changes in organs and tissues to help diagnose conditions such as cancer and heart disease.
