I’m sick of every day being a new controversy I want to delete all of social media atp

Social media can be such a great thing, but we completely abuse it against each other constantly.

I mean, is he not a Zionist though? I don’t get why yall are coddling him as if we haven’t seen people on this very forum attack other celebs for disagreeing with them politically/socially (*cough cough* Nicki Minaj). He’s definitely taken a step back from publicly speaking out about it, but I don’t doubt he still holds those same views. You don’t just change those kinds of fundamental beliefs because of some Twitter backlash.

I mean, uh, no. This article pretty clearly lays out why the Zionist claims hold little to no weight.
In the week after October 7, Noah was reacting to people literally celebrating the massacre of civilians, a couple of them were extended family. And yet - and this is the part that people seem to willingly ignore - he consistently kept the suffering in Palestine in the conversation.

I’ll bypass the idea that a (then) 18 year-old’s political views can’t grow and develop in their college years - that’s just foolish. The word “Zionist” means something very different now than it did even several years ago, and I don’t believe Noah fits the bill.

I mean, I’d say Nicki Minaj coming out as a full-throated Trump supporter is a bit different than Schnapp appearing to be a two-state solution Zionist lol. I disagree with the premise of Zionism, given that it’s fundamentally theocratic and I don’t think the state of Israel should’ve been established, but I also don’t even think his original statement was particularly heartless and I don’t really think the way it was characterized was accurate. The original statement he got **** for says he supports Palestine’s right to self-determination and I’d say the biggest issue with it was the defensiveness of positioning critics of Israel as being antisemitic and “forgiving” them for it.

I don’t know what he really believes and obviously I don’t really like that he seems to rub elbows with pretty hardcore Zionists, but I do also think, having now read the original statement, folks painted his position with an awfully broad brushstroke and, while I don’t share his position, I feel like we’ve gotta at least critique people for what they actually said as opposed to putting words in their mouths.

Genuinely shocked that there are Zionist-apologists on here :abra:

Well I am not shocked there are people who can’t/won’t think critically before applying such labels. :cheeky:

The 2 sides are trash, both pro israeli and pro Palestinians.

For 2 years these 2 groups of "supporters" has been de-humanizing both Israelis and Palestinians.

And what I find it funny is that you guys automatically assuming that every person who supports Israel is zionist and supports the government.

But at the same time saying that if you support Palestine, you don't support Hamas (well except for a few psychos)

So you can't play this game and expect to win.

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

His statement that he's horrified by the "brutal murder of...soldiers fighting to defend themselves" in reference to the IDF...

"Prayers for peace" or not, it's giving MAGA saying they "support immigrants when they come the right way" while berating Democrats who don't support "brave ICE agents who are protecting our communities from criminals".

You can't "pray for peace" when you're simultaneously praying for the safety and peace of the people perpetuating a genocide.

That "both sides" sh*t warrants criticism at least.

And the insinuation that people who are critical of Israel (which, again, is perpetuating a genocide) are inherently antisemitic is so tired. There are as many Jews in the US as there are in Israel and you don't see them picking up arms to go hunt families at refugee camps. Hell, you don't even see a plurality of Jews IN ISRAEL supporting that sh*t.

Aside from that, people are deranged online. What do you expect? We sacrificed a whole presidential election to a Nazi so virtue signalers could grandstand over this issue, you think they wouldn't bully a teenager online for not thinking before he speaks? And of course they'd ignore that he's actively supported the cause in Gaza in his own small ways.

He just needs to decouple his Jewish identity from that fascist, genocidal hell hole of a country and never defend the IDF again. That's literally it.

Well it’s clear in the video, he’s laughing and having fun filming these people with the stickers. I don’t know how not touching the stickers makes it any better. And of course he’s gonna make an apology after all the backlash like every celebrity does.

I'm applying the same logic to this that Gaga fans apply to the pic of her with the two people in blackface tbh.

I always think about that meme of “everything I’ve ever learned about (blank) has been against my will” and how true it actually is.

I genuinely know absolutely nothing about half these celebrities, but then suddenly a semi-viral tweet/quote tweet will pop up on my timeline saying they’re a Zionist or MAGA or whatever when I have no idea who they are nor do I want to know.

Gen Z in general do not understand nuance, hyperbole or anything anymore they’re so pedantic it pmo
