Economy 52,844
Ok this is just sad at this point. Her commercial records mean nothing at this point and I dont care if shes surpassing Madonna in almost every category as far as numbers go As far as Im concerned Madonna is still the most successful female artist of all time because her records were legitimate. Taylor just inflates them in every desperate way possible It also bothers me than decades from now Taylor will be seen as the big female artist from early 21st century instead of Gaga and it bothers me that its someone so basic and desperate that is beating her Edited February 10 by Economy 4

Like - it's obvious why Or does Taylor have more #1 songs/more weeks at #1 because of the tactics?? Those records achieved by MJ, Madonna, etc. meant so much more in terms of impact because not only did people have to get up and go to the store to physically by their albums and singles, but because they were buying 1, MAYBE 2, versions of the same release. Even 100,000 fans buying 4+ versions from various retailers (yes I know billboard says they track only 4 per person per retailer) is a huge inflation. I don’t know what’s not clicking to her fans about that And it’s so stupid in my opinion because her numbers would still be wildly impressive and more honorable without her tactics Edited February 10 by TEANUS British social ladies with upturned pinkies, glasses clinking // xoxoTEANUS
TEANUS 16,140
For anyone saying, “but Gaga!…”, I’m not even going to try to debate if you think that one instance (which was probably the mastermind of Bruno’s team rather than Gaga’s) is anywhere comparable or as tacky or desperate as every. single. release. being stretched to the max number wise. Obviously people are going to criticize that more, Taylor doesn’t release ANYTHING without manipulating its chart position in some way Not to mention Gaga didn’t even capitalize on the trend of releasing physical singles again this era sans DWAS, which again, was probably Bruno’s team pushing. If she and Taylor were anywhere near comparable in terms of desperation she would’ve rush released a bunch of Abra singles the week of the Super Bowl to secure a top 10 position Edited February 10 by TEANUS British social ladies with upturned pinkies, glasses clinking // xoxoTEANUS 4 1
LateToCult 41,837
Double the fraud if it means keeping Choosing Texas off the #1 spot. I fully support her shenanigans

You would queue up for release days just to get a copy of her albums up until after Hard Candy.
Guest
This also shows that she basically decided to release her single during SuperBowl weekend to block Bad Bunny from #1. But too much pride. When she sees she can’t stand a chance she changed the plan.

Based on an archived post, the original date was 10/4 (linked below). But even then this is a pattern with her and it's weird. It's also sad that her fans are so okay with the blatant money grab and how she chooses to monetize her "art". DWAS was delayed by 2 weeks not 1 also. And immediately sold out. So it's possible their teams wanted to replenish and ship all at once for either better chart positioning or to get labor in order to process them cheaper. 54 minutes ago, TEANUS said: For anyone saying, “but Gaga!…”, I’m not even going to try to debate if you think that one instance (which was probably the mastermind of Bruno’s team rather than Gaga’s) is anywhere comparable or as tacky or desperate as every. single. release. being stretched to the max number wise. But even then we know Gaga has no control over merch as she signed that away in her record deal.
