Ashley 9,903
It was beautiful as is, especially after learning the couple was actually getting married. DWAS has become a classic wedding song. 1

elsamars 5,951
Imagine Vanish Into You Salsa version as the wedding song. Now that would be lifechanging. a wolf in sheep’s clothing is deadlier than an honest foe
jacs vs looser 4,779
I agree with the sentiment that it would've been a more powerful message, but it only would've worked if Bad Bunny's Show was about revolution and fighting the system, but instead, it was about unity and love so it wouldn't have made sense.

Taumaturg0 1,071
We've already had this discussion, so I'll just repeat myself: - Mariachi is a Mexican genre of music that, while widespread throughout LATAM and the US, is still heavily related to Mexican culture. Salsa, on the other hand, is a genre born form the fusion of Cuban music and jazz, making it more fitting to the theme of Latinxs in the US, since it's a sincretic genre from it's inception. - Americano cannot be that easily reworked into salsa while DWS could, not because of time signature but because of the structure and vocal style. And yes, that's important since all the genres featured in the show are derived from afrolatin music, while mariachi is more Spanish influenced. - Also DWS is just the bigger song. - Being the guest I'd think she'd let the Latino main performer make the main political statement, out of not taking the spotlight away from the issue and not "making it about herself", we know she wouldn't intentionally do it, but that would be the result. Thanks fro coming to my ted talk, let's move on Edited Tuesday at 12:48 AM by Taumaturg0 2
Dojo 19,767
Agree or maybe a cover of an iconic and timeless latin song, dwas was totally out of place.
freebit 6,264
I thought the same at first, but it fit into the storyline of the performance, so was perfect. The only flaw is that she had trouble finding the melody with this new arrangement, and so it felt like a mashup that someone made, when completely rearranging some of the vocals to fit into this new salsa arrangment would have been more fitting, but maybe there just wasn't time with her touring, the holidays, and just being in a different timeline in Japan for the past few weeks.
