I never said I’d prefer it, I was literally just playing devil’s advocate lol "Americano" by Lady Gaga, from her 2011 album Born This Way, is a Latin-infused techno-house anthem protesting Arizona's strict immigration laws and advocating for same-sex marriage. Written as a response to California’s Proposition 8, the song explores the American Dream, the struggles of disenfranchised communities, and features a storyline about a lesbian romance. 1

I don't SEE any 😒 She would’ve performed it as a mariachi number. As someone who’s musical directed live performances, if they had just incorporated a quick breakdown that would allow for them to transition genres, they could’ve performed it in a mariachi style and then transitioned back to another genre lmao. They went through multiple subgenres tonight and you’re acting like once you start a show in one style, you can’t incorporate other genres. On the MAYHEM tour, Gaga literally transitions from a gothic metal interlude into an industrial synth techno interlude into a fun track lol. From that vantage point, getting from mariachi into a more classical Latin song (like what Ricky sang) wouldn’t be musically difficult at all. Yes, that is correct. Thank you for copying and pasting a section from Wikipedia that corroborates my point. And Mariachi it's a Mexican style of music, just from México. You catch it or not? We're 20 countries.
Starmie25 20,825 Posted yesterday at 03:14 AM Share Posted yesterday at 03:14 AM (edited) It was also really thoughtful that he asked her to join the performance. Huge difference compared to past artists who dubbed her "too theatre" or "too gnay" for GP. Edited yesterday at 03:15 AM by Starmie25

So in a show where he specifically named every country in LATAM and performed music that has Puerto Rican roots and Cuban roots, it would’ve been…wrong to also include Mexican music? Make it make sense lol. Also the point I made about MAYHEM wasn’t about Gaga, it was about how with good musical direction, you can transition pretty effectively between many different genres pretty seamlessly. steven 6,331 Posted yesterday at 03:17 AM Share Posted yesterday at 03:17 AM Underrated opinion but I really think having Michael working bts has helped Gaga a lot. The fact that she’s been everywhere since 2024, from the Paris Olympic Games to Mayhem being a real return to form, and then the Super Bowl says so much. I have a feeling her new team has worked extremely hard on her PR and appearances in the last few years and it’s kind of incredible to see Gaga still be so relevant on such massive stages. Do you realize how many people watch the Super Bowl? It’s crazy. It really cemented her as a legend.

Cause SALSA it's the mother genre of the majority of music styles in latin america. Plena, Cumbia, Reggeaton, Rkt, Funk, etc. Mariachi it's just one. SALSA it's the base style.
